Hello,
this is a milling machine used to remove a road's pavement.
To do that, the machine has a rotating milling drum in the back, between the rear treads. The drum breaks pavement into little pieces, which then travel through the machine over a conveyor belt and get ejected at the end of it. Ideally, a dump truck is placed at the end of the conveyor belt, to collect all of the "reclaimed asphalt pavement" (RAP).
RAP can then be recycled in the asphalt mixture for building new roads.
