Important: This map is made using the 1.7.10 indev version of the mod. Version 1.7.10-170709-1. You will find the indev downloads in the Rails og War discord chat,

I have made a new railwaymap with a bit different focus then I had on my last map. Unlike the last one where the focus was more on the nature arround, I have now tried to focus a bit more on the towns and cities where the railway is trafficing. Here is now a large variety of places to see and visit, conected by rail and road. I do still have a focus on the scenic surroundings, so there is always stuff to see as you travel with your train, and therefore makes it feel more lifelike. The map is set to a time arround 1930-40, where industrilization is booming and railways are the main form of transportation on land.

Unlike last time, I have not used a map from a skilled terraformer, but made it myself so I could have the mixture of flat, buildable land, steep mountains and fjords. Therefore the map itself is not as beautiful as the last one, considering that I am not someone who should be in charge of terraforming.

The map is ofcoure far from complete. There is always more detailing and more building to be done at the areas that I have builded, and there is alot more that will be built in other places. But considering this is a solo project, it takes a long time to get somewhere. With that said, if anyone feels like they want to contribute with some buildings, industry or even towns, then feel free to contact me. I do apologize in advance for often being very slow to answer.

The map contains the following:
A "large" industrial city, with mainline and sidelines runing in narrow alleys between buildings. Alot of goods is beeing transported in and out of this city all the way in the end of the fjord, but with a lack of proper harbourfacillities, it needs the railnetwork to transport all of it commodities and products.

Locomotive depot.

Farmlands and fishing industries as scenic eyecandy along the rails and roads.

Coalmine with railconnection, to supply the area with needed coal for transport and industry.

Town with warehouses for local farms to ship their products by rail. Warehouses store the goods, and ships them off in railcars to the areas where they are needed. A large grain silo is located here aswell. There is also a railwayferry in this town to transport entire trains out of this region, and bring fresh goods in.

Sawmill. Wooden planks is a well neaded resource in this area, used for everything from boxes to houses.

Another city, but with less industry and is therefore more dependent on goods beeing delivered to it. From this city there is a new railway ruing up in the mountains, conection to a small mountainvillage, and serves as their only communication with the outside world.

In the new version:

A new city, with some large industrial facilities, and a large harbour for shipping of goods. This is the place where most ships import and exports goods for the region, and where the rail network takes over and brings it to the other cities and towns.

It still lack some keyfeatures, espessially a lumberyard where the sawmill can get its goods from.

You are free to use the map in photos, videos and so on as you wish, just add the correct credit and a link to this site. You are however not allowed to reupload any content on the map, or use it in other projects without permission.

You might be told by the game that you do lack some mods when fiering it up, but the only thing you should really need is Rails of War 1.7.10. A few items from Custom NPC is also used, and one or two places there is a Flans Mod veichle that have not been removed. But other then that the map is all vanilla, only depending on RoW,

hey cool map i like immersive railroading also i dont want you to switch to it cause ROW fits with minecraft unlike immersive railroading
cause detailed models dont really fit with minecraft besides cars that look like their counterpart well anyway mrcrayfish vehicle mod does have 1 vehicle that looks like a ford but there is baisiccaly not anything that looks like real life cars in this mod besides the ford pickup and the models also fit well with minecraft that is just 1 example
well yeah that is all i have to say well the 2nd bit is quite off topic
please use the immersive railroading

I do like this railway mod better than Immersive Railroading. Rails of War have a style that fits this game better in my opinion. If I wanted something to look realistic, then I play another game. Rails of War makes fantastic models, that fits the Minecraft universe. And not to mention the textures. The biggest problem with IR after my taste is the flat and little detailed textures. It does not help to have good models, if you do not put the same amount of work and detail into the texturing.

if you have a different version of the mod then what I used, then I think that can give you a few problems. Use version 1.7.10-170709-1. You can find it in the Rails of War discord chat.
I get a message when I try to use the map that has something like WWII uniform is missing.
Also, I can;t see any of the rails or trains

Looks quite good the towns. Nice different detailling, so that I do not get the feeling it is MC-editable all the way.

Well made!

Thank you for that. There is ofcourse alot of MCedit involved in this prosess, but I am glad that you think I manage to mostley cover it up. I try to "smooth" it out whenever I use it, and make it look natural.
