It's been a while.

Two years, in fact.
I've been building, but I haven't been publishing. With a recent resurge in effort to learn a variety of skills, from learning how to use all the commands with extensive proficiency, picking up basic modding, gaining a grasp on randomly generated structures, and giving some 3D modelling and texturing a go, I'm pushing myself to grow as fast as possible.
This incorporates a portion of that. Built as a theoretically playable map for one to fight some lost sailors' souls floating over the boundless voids of nothingness. Forgotten and far beyond any accidental wanderer's reach. The custom models for the skeletons and zombies were created entirely for the build, within the time limit for the contest. Just as the entire build was! Perhaps a little too much time was spent on the models, actually. I got carried away with everything but the build, and ended up having to push back quite a bit of it and settle for less.

It's such a joy seeing your creations walking around, isn't it?
Still, for a push back out of an extended hiatus from any full scale builds, I'm quite pleased with the outcome. I could ask for more, but why? I'm happy with what I've done, and I only intend to improve further from here.
Usually I'm drawing. Writing. Talking. Working on paving the way to the future, for what it's worth. Trying, as we all are, I'm sure. I feel there's a partial element of that in this build. The depiction of the lost sailors unsure of their direction, unaware of where to go, confused, above the void - but with ships. With each other. With company, in their voyage through unknown skies. It's relatable. I'm not sure where I'm going or where I will end up, but I know with confidence I'm going somewhere, for I'm not laying down anchor no matter how the ship looks. A fitting metaphor, no?
But the ships are pretty dapper if I do say so myself.

In fact, each went through some revisions. A couple reattempts at the mystical swirls of magic in the air, the decay of leaves, some more broken than others, and some simply varied in colour. I can't say the final result is one I'm perfectly happy with - there's a reason I revised that stage so many times - but I can say it's satisfying seeing the lineups of colours.

The greens were actually the originals! They didn't make the cut, instead opting to keep the colour scheme in line with the models, rather than the models lining up with the builds!

Red and purple really did fit a lot better with these, right?

The map's playable, if one feels like it. Jumping across the connections between airships to hunt the living dead, putting these poor sailors to rest at last.
Just watch out for the spawners.
The pieces for this map (airships, hot air balloons, and 3D models) are accessible via my Patreon - Uknownymous, with regular new content assured. I'm still going to be sharing smaller builds publicly every now and then here so don't worry too much, soon to be posting a structure generation mod too (I've made progress - it works), as well as publicly showing a lot of visual updates on my creations, but I'm getting old - alas, so old (dramatic flair... early twenties is ANCIENT) - and would like to still ensure I can justify investing an extra amount of time and quality into my builds. Still, that's a side note, so, it is what it is.
For now? Here we have it, my entry into the Haunted Shipwreck build contest, Sailor's Ruin.
Thanks for reading. ^~^
