Howdy folks!
I figured since I hit 50 subscribers I thought I would do a ship build to commemorate the occasion. And that ship is the SS Summer Sea! The Summer Sea is a humble trade ship (I can never fit those dag gum cannons on these ships, I am an awful planner with this stuff!). I believe she classifies as another top-sail schooner. The hull has a deep draft but a relatively narrow beam, allowing her to cut through the sea at ease whilst carrying commodities and cargo!
The color scheme is a warm with emphasis on the yellow. It is appropriate since summer is fast approaching (for those of you in the Northern hemisphere that is). The design of the ship is similar to the Rusty Gaff, but has two topsails instead of one. Also, the Summer Sea is quite a bit smaller than the Rusty Gaff. The cap'ns cabin on the aft end of the ship is something I have never done before (took ideas from old 17th century warships and the likes) and decided to try. The Summer Sea has a pleasant name, pleasant colors and a pleasant shape. I hope you all like the Summer Sea, and thanks especially to the 50 of you who decided my builds were worthy of your subscription! You guys are awesome!
Note: If you download this build, all that I ask is that you credit me for it please!
Thanks for stopping by and have a good one!

Have something to say?
I particularly enjoy this type of rigging style because I have to say it really is aesthetically pleasing. It has a lot going on with the overall shape, and you do not see many people rigging there ships like this, so I thought I would bring some in. I never stared at blueprints when I was a kid, but I drew a fair share of ships when I was a kid and built oodles of boats when I built with Legos. Personally, I think they look way better than modern sea faring vessels. Anyways, I appreciate your comment, complement and Crystallized Carbon Sagittarian! Thanks!
