Hello folks!

Here is a small ship build for you all! The S.S. Salt Spray! The ol' cargo ship has seen a few years and has numerous patches in the hull from hitting rocks, reefs, and that accidental scuttling when the crew was fooling around with a TNT shipment. Nevertheless, The Salt Spray still chugs along with its old, knocking steam engine and if the engine cant get it done, the crew hoists the sails for an extra boost! In the event one of the patches comes loose while under way, there is even a 4-man life raft for the 8 + captain crew!

The Salt Spray is an echo to the Water Hammer as it uses the same steamer/sail blend. I tried to give the ship a bit of a rundown-yet- functional look and came out sort of vintage looking. Overall I am pleased with how it looks and is intended (and will make a great addition) for my always-in-progress port city that I am building.

If you use this ship for any builds or anything, I would greatly appreciate credit for the build. Thanks!

Hope you all like it and have a good one!

I use Halcyon Days. It has become my new default since that is all I use now. It is reeally good for the ships I build and is all around a decent texture pack. This one specifically is an older version, not the new 3-D one. I also use optifine with it as well. Thanks!

I know man, I know! I find it really hard to go back to default since I love the resource pack so much!

I know right? Especially with the new update that just came out which makes it all 3d and whatnot. Also I recommend using shaders in your screenshots.

Yeah, I should do that for screenshots. I would hope they are compatible with opti-fine? I love shaders and I should re-explore them however, shaders for me are only good for screenshots sadly. My machine is a 4 year old laptop that still runs fairly decent, but isn't overly beefy, and any shaders (even the lagless) are incredibly taxing on my computer, but oh well!

The newsest optifine builds usually come with shader optimized versions, which have better compatibility and whatnot. I can run "lagless" shaders on my laptop with a stable 7 fps, and despite those terrible frame rates i can still manage to take a couple screens. Also as i forgot to say, youre ships are pretty cool lol. I should try to build a ship one day...

Thanks for the complement mate! Give ship building a whirl! The first one may not look the best, but the cool thing is (as with all building) you pick up tips and tricks from other builders and from your own experimenting. You will figure out your own style and then evolve it further. It is a process, but the outcome is well worth it! Happy building!
