A reconstruction of the largest ancient Greek temple ever constructed, located in Athens, Greece. Construction started around the year 520 B.C with the goal to surpass the Temple of Artemis in size. Due to political instability in Athens, and how the Greeks felt a temple of this size was utterly ridiculous, the project was left abandoned until the Roman emperor Hadrian, picked it back up and completed it in 132 A.D, nearly 700 years after it began construction. Shortly after the Christianization of the Roman Empire, the temple was believed to have closed down, in favor of the Christian religion. Long after the fall of the Roman Empire in 476 A.D, it was slowly quarried and torn down for its building materials, and nearly destroyed completely. Only 15 columns remain of the massive structure today in Athens.
This is an update to my original take on the temple, which was very disproportionate and left incomplete, due to me underestimating my laptop's limitations. This also manages to be bigger than the original at over 605L x 247W x 210H, making this the largest ancient Greek temple ever built in Minecraft. The interior will soon be built, featuring a massive statue to Zeus, the king of the gods.
