Welcome to the BRD Tree Farm Complex.

This facility is built as 2 buildings that hold 5 different tree farming machines.

All machines have replication command blocks for the sapling chests at the machines themselves, the TnT hoppers and the bone-meal hoppers so that the player always has some and the machines are completely automated- with the exception of placing saplings of course :P
Most of the machines use a variation of a spawned/ grown solid log that conducts the redstone pulse through and into the circuits that activate the crusher and log pusher pistons with a glass block to sever this redstone making it a pulse rather than just on when the pusher is activated. There are other ways to do this, but I like its simplicity. This is also the replication circuit trigger so that those items are replaced with every log grown. The Dark Oak machine uses an observer to send a pulse when a grown tree is spawned instead of a glass signal break.
The machines can be manually racked using levers so that the movements can be fully closed and reopened without trying to grow if needed, however one can place a log on the growth patch or in front of the observer and it will trigger the harvest process- helpful for excessive leaf growth etc lol.

The first machine is the smallest of the 3 and is located behind the storage sorter in the storefront. This one makes Oak, Jungle and Birch logs and the byproducts. One stands on the pressure plate to start the dispensing of bone-meal to begin- for all machines this is the same. This one will output faster and thus has a collection system added to it that builds a continuously "extruded" 5x5 block flow that is pushed into a blast chamber where the logs are broken down by TnT and sent to storage.
This building also houses the item sorter for the logs, apples, sticks and saplings from all 4 machines, though the saplings chest is also a catch all for manual sorting. The sorter has a simple over-flow protection system that feeds into a lava drop.

The next 3 share their own blast chamber in a separate building where each is fed directly into the chamber. The same process sends to the unified storage via short aqua-duct.

The second farm is made using slime and honey blocks instead of just pistons and allows for growth of Spruce and the first 3 types. Acacia will break this design.

The third is capable of all previous types mentioned and Acacia, though there will be times where you will be bumped back by the leaves and need to cut them manually or some may spawn outside the machine and de-spawn later etc. You need to sight through the hoppers to hit the growth patch here- this is to cut down on the leaf pushbacks. I suppose I could have built just this machine for the smaller trees but where's the fun in that? and who doesn't like more loud tnt gadgetry? The wrapping of the hoppers on the outside is due to the saplings and sticks sometimes being kicked out of the machine and into the circuits between the pistons where they are not reachable. These hoppers pick up most of the strays and carry them to the ejector that sends to the water stream of the blast chamber with the rest of the crushed items.

The 4th machine is solely for dark oak. This one is the largest and has the most components to it. The dark oak begins as 4 saplings on the growth patch that become a 2x2x6 log that is pushed out. When a tree spawns- the harvest process is triggered by an observer that activates a timer that fires a 6 block high pusher stack of double pistons and activates the upper floor piston crusher panels for the sides and back of the grown canopy of leaves. The logs are dealt with in the chamber and the crushed items are caught by a large upper floor of hoppers that send them out into the chamber stream for storage.
Due to the subtle timing required for the harvest process and the fact that this machine can output very quickly the hopper timer is a delay of the pusher retraction to help prevent placing saplings too fast for the blast chamber.

The 5th machine is for Cherry Wood. This tree farm is designed specifically for the farming of Cherry trees to produce Cherry Wood, saplings and sticks. Not unlike the other wood farms this tree has attributes of its own and again I felt like it needed its own machine. This machine actually comes in 2 versions: the first version uses passive collection of sticks and saplings whereas the second version is a hybrid that is quite a bit larger. This one has a crusher system similar to the Dark Oak machine that breaks the leaves as well as sections that are collected passively- this produces those drops much faster- More of them. The core machine is the same for both versions. This machine uses a double thrown 6 stack of pusher like most of the other machines and also a glass block signal cut at the bottom of the stack. When a tree is grown it passes the dispenser redstone signal which actuates the pusher to drive the log forward which severs the signal and resets the pusher position clearing the growth patch for planting. The core 5x5 is encased in glass which severs the trunk and branches from the leaves. For both versions this immediately causes the leaves to begin to break because there's no wood attached. The center structure uses a cross pattern of wood and glass to absorb new growth much like the Acacia machine. A collection system like the Birch is put in place because this farm can run very fast. The Passive version (BRD-MC-TFC-P) has been left with a rapid bone meal feed and the Active version (BRD-MC-TFC-A) has been fitted with a slower clock due to the whole-lot goin on. A piston signal break is placed to the right of the operation position for in the off chance the machine becomes stuck.

The Cherry Wood works the same way as all of our other tree farms: The player stands on a pressure plate that activates the dispensing of Bonemeal and the timed TnT drop system while planting saplings repeatedly as the pusher drives out the grown trees to the left. The collection system does its level best to build a 5x6 cube of continually built/extruded Cherry wood that is broken down by TnT and then sent by water flow to be sorted and stored.

Full detail matching the realm- Climate control, w/c, staff lounge etc.

Pasting info:
Total space is: 59 wide, 80 deep, 6 below grade-including the floor, 29 vertical total. You are facing north- inside the paste- outside building 1, in front of the right sliding door staring at the shop owner. This is exactly 15 from the right side and 32 from the back wall ;) We suggest using FastAsynchWorldEdit for pasting redstone.

BEFORE YOU GROW THE FIRST TREE!! If you did NOT paste this asynchronously- Be sure to remove the dispenser from the TnT drop system and test the drop timer and check all redstone of the individual machines with the levers- This will show missing redstone for the operation and replication circuits and prevent catastrophe. Sometimes pasting schems will leave out things for some reason or something will be "locked" and need to be removed and replaced: repeater, redstone dot etc- at least in my experience when pasted with normal worldedit for example. This can be horrific if you just start firing logs out and the TnT system has instead been in a locked state of back and forth rapidly. You turn around to absolute mayhem, trust me. Remember to edit the command blocks for replenishment/replication to their corresponding pasted spots in your world also.

IMPORTANT: Wait until you hear the first bang or count 5 seconds to allow the unified TnT drop timing to begin before pushing logs into the chamber of building 2. If you need to clear logs in the chamber or to test the timer/ drop system there are 2 levers located on the torch risers to the TnT drop system. One is accessed from the entryway- left side before the Acacia machine and the other is just inside the chamber access from the Spruce machine on the dark oak riser. It is easier to use this if needed or to count to 5 than it is to rebuild what the TnT will destroy :|

Remember to paste redstone asynchronously using methods like Carpet or Fastasynchworldedit. Pasting in tick time presents immediate block updates upon paste among other anomalies that break redstone builds.

Update #4 : by The_Glittering_One 09/09/2023 11:20:21 amSep 9th, 2023

Cherry wood machine added. With the addition of Cherry in 1.20 it was time for an upgrade of things. The sorting has been redone to accomodate all that the facility makes and the flow system has had some changes so that the stacks of items will flow around until taken in completely by the sorter units. The sorters will always be in-taking even when the chests below are full and will direct the surplus to the purge. There is a relief hopper that is locked unless needed above the purge ejector in the case that a non-sorted item enters the flow.

This tree farm is designed specifically for the farming of Cherry trees to produce Cherry Wood, saplings and sticks. Not unlike the other wood farms this tree has attributes of its own and again I felt like it needed its own machine. Both schematics are included in the zip.

This update is scheduled to be added to the world build.
