The draug used to be a normal person before his death. Eventually they became a creature, festering the night. In the beginning, they were living in their burial, a mound, and haunted the living.
As the years became decades, they'd have grown tired of their tomb and environment and set out to sea. The draug aimed to try and satiate the hunger of boredom by fishing. Not before long, the seas grew tired of this undead beast and striked back onto them and their boat, experiencing a second death. This time a watery grave. As their body got entangled in the sea life and kelp, the ship emerged at their side, this time split in half, and floated back up to the surface.
Reliefed, the draug sailed back to the shores, trying to leave the waters. They jumped off the ship and waddled to the shallow shore, but then they realized that the waters held them in place like glue, and every inch further from the water line, the more it felt like they were getting ripped in half. Once they were at the cusp of the water, they had realized that they were cursed to roam the seas instead. Lonely was it on their half sinking ship, while storms were trying to get this unliving creature back to the afterlife. This was until a peculiar creature caught interest in him. A living, breathing and talking shipwreck.
This ship started a chat with the undead, where they grew closer and closer for each word spoken, as they were both creatures doomed to be lonely for their lifetimes. One was a human that has lost its humanity. Another a nøkken who were tired of being stuck in the swamps, which is why they were trying their luck as a shipwreck on a shore instead. The undead creature realized eventually, that they had a solution for them both, as The Draug had grown tired of their unseaworthy ship, and together they could feast on any poor soul that happens to encounter The Draugs storms.
But this ship? The one overgrown with tendrils and vines, creaking from foot to foot, and this brewing storm in the distance? Totally a coincidence. A man at the tiller was simply just yelling about how they've recently lost their men in the storm. You decide to get onboard to help, just to see no man. The deck is warping and creaking and moving underneath your feet and it feels like you're almost sinking. You try to return to your vessel, just to see it completely gone. Maybe this was a mistake? You decide to persevere, you won't allow your end to be like this, you will defeat the Draug once and for all! Tales tell of endless riches to anyone besting these demons. Maybe this is your chance.
Schems are to come soon!
Please remember to give credit if you use the ship in any way on public spaces!
To use the world, simply put it in the saves folder in minecraft and pack out the file- and it should work just fine <3
(I recommend not using the rig as a foundation for your studies, if you try and become a shipbuilder yourself. It's loosely based on real Norwegian rigging, but liberties were taken)
(Story is fictional and based on Draugen loosely, together with Nøkken, they do not depict these creatures perfectly- by intention)
