This is my version of the TR-1700 class Submarines.

ARA San Juan (S-42), commissioned in 1985

Historical Background:

TR-1700 Submarines is a class of diesel electric submarines built for the Argentine Navy. Six boats were originally ordered with the first two constructed in Germany while the remaining four to be built locally. Only the German built boats are completed as the Argentine boats were cancelled due to the country's economic crisis in the 1980s. Both submarines completed were operated by the Submarine Force based in Mar del Plata Naval Base.

The boats are amongst the fastest diesel electric submarines in the world with a surface speed of 15 knots and a submerged speed of 25 knots, an endurance of 30 days, and a complement of 26 men. The ships have an armament of six 21-inch torpedo launchers at the bow and a storage of 22 torpedoes. They were the largest submarines in the Argentine Navy and have high survivability.
