The current nikolskaya church was built in 1720 one year after the great city fire of 1719.
It is a small stone church with a bell tower and a square shaped main building with an apse.
Nowadays it has only one dome whilst it probably originally had five.
The current church is a reconstruction of a former wooden church which burned, and from which no traces are left of anymore.

Unfortunately there is no information about its former appearance avaiable, aside of that it was made out of wood. The build is based around the shape of the current church, but in style of russian vernacular architecture.
