Welcome to The London Project! Where a small team of skilled builders aim to recreate the whole of Greater London at a one to one scale using UK.GOV DEFRA Lidar data collected by reflecting light from a moving aircraft to get the height of each building.
Come and visit the famous London landmarks between Heathrow Airport in the west, all the way to Dartford Crossing in the east. Travel the city by Tube using our fully functioning Tube network (Not currently in opperation).
We aim to build the whole of London in a 60 kilometer squared radius around the main city, with room for expansion in the future.
As we have not been working on the project for more than a year, we currently only have a small area built up around Westminster bridge reaching out into Waterloo and Trafalgar on opposite sides of the river. We also have side projects on the go for areas around the main city centre and Canary Wharf. So keep an eye out for the project as we expand. If you live London we might eventually build your house.
Many people say this is an ambitious project and too much to build. However, this is not a project we plan on rushing. Some
places will probably take years to get to, but we don't plan on quitting any time soon and we will build as much of London as physically possible.
As 99% of london is not built to any form of grid, we encounter many angled builds. At first these can seem quite daunting. However, with the right skills and experience, anyone can build an angled build. Detailing on the other hand. A building at an angle to minecrafts natural 90 degrees is much harder to detail than a regular flat build. This is where our skilled team are experts, putting to use their past experience building in Minecraft along with working on other versions of London through out the years.
