What is Tok Pisin?
Tok Pisin is a widely spoken language in Papua New Guinea and one of its official languages. It began as a mix of English and local languages during the 19th century to help people from different groups trade and work together. Over time, it grew into a full language with its own grammar, words, and sounds, though many of its words come from English. It’s a common second language for most people in the country, which has over 800 native languages, and is increasingly spoken as a first language in towns and cities. Tok Pisin helps connect communities across Papua New Guinea's many diverse cultures.
Please be aware that if you don't know the language, some of the words can look very funny to native English speakers. Please be respectful that the language is very much real and genuinely spelt certain ways. Don't make fun of it.
Why Tok Pisin?
I grew up in Papua New Guinea and I know the language well. I am unware of a single game in existence that has translations to Tok Pisin. In fact, very few things are written in Tok Pisin. This language pack is the first of its kind!
Because there are no options out there like this, I felt the need to deliver a language pack that allows people from Papua New Guinea to play the game in a language they can fully understand.
How did I make this?
Google Translate recently added over 160 new languages to choose from. Tok Pisin was one of them.I created a Python script that processed language definitions from Minecraft, translated it via Google Translate API, and saved the output.
Yes, this is program generated! But I will defend it by saying there is no other way for me to deliver this without spending significant amounts of time translating by hand. This at least puts the language pack out there.

So you'll be able to roughly understand most of the words. A few will be really different though because they were borrowed from local languages.
