Option For a Background In Your Profile!

Hello guys! I'm here to talk about another request looming my mind for a while now...

A few months ago on PMC, I recommended the option to change the background of your profile. I'm trying to be as patient as possible, but hear me out; I'm just trying to expand on the topic a bit without making the other ticket look too long or desperate (Yes, I know editing is a thing). I just wanted to be a teensy bit specific about the topic at hand and letting it have it's own ticket.

Okay, I remember I said in the past that the size of the background should be this, right?
Remember This?

Well, make that the minimum.
If you guys value creativity in PMC (in which I adore), a background would be a splendid edition to the already addicting feed post profile convenience page (So far, I'm digging it! I can't stop doing daily posts! xD). It makes the blogs have their own unique look, and not just the dirt background. Here is what I mean by this:
The Possibilities are Endless!

(By the way, I edited in the backgrounds through MS Paint (I'm surprising decent at it as you can tell, even with it being "worse" than Photoshop.). This isn't made with plugins... Really! Also, the background stays constant, and the profile page will move when you scroll. If you want, you can add the option to make the background move with the profile through scrolling if necessary.)

It doesn't seem like a bad idea, and you could even stuff in some Minecraft ones like you did with the banner. Like my examples, you could keep that thing, and it'll still look cool. You can even change it back to dirt if you hate the change, so it's not shoved onto people. I just... Don't really see the purpose of a profile without a background, you know? Remember how YouTube got rid of their backgrounds and their profile channel things now look like crap (and they still kinda do, even if I have gotten used to it)? Well, why not do the opposite? It would be nice, but make the change subtle, like show a background changer tab in the banner/avatar editor, or even use it as a widget? The possibilities are endless! For now, I just want you to know what you think about the idea in general. Cheers!

  Have something to say?

if you mean the one behind your profile picture in your page, then it's already possible.
Or do you mean changing the dirt background to something else, like in jams? That would be cool. Cyprezz

Yeah, I meant the latter option, since, while changing the banner "background" is nice, it's kinda limiting to have your profile look like every homogeneous social media platform out there with a mere banner and a profile. If we can adjust the layout of our profiles, why not change the dirt/brick background to something more unique and "you" like the good old days of websites, y'know?

this is a great idea, although your suggested minimum would be very restrictive for people who have no graphic design skills. it would be good to have an option to either use a single image as the whole background, that is the size of the screen (like you suggested) or just a single square texture that repeats over the screen (like in jams).

Oooooh! Yeah, you're right! That sounds like a really great idea, too! I can see both options being possible for choices like how YouTube used to have them for their backgrounds and, like you said, would be great for those who have no experience in graphic design. What I mentioned back when I first made the ticket was just one of the many possible options you can pick for the background if you're experienced in that sort of stuff. Otherwise, there's always those ones.

I can stick up for this.

Allows for more creativity on the user's end.
