Oi, everyone! It's me, Ocean, and I'm back at ya with (yet another) blog post. Today's topic is something I've noticed a lot of in the past few months of me playing Multiplayer MC:
Overly-shaded/overly-detailed Skins
Now, some of you guys (and gals) might be wondering, "What do you mean by this, Ocean?" Well, as you all (should probably) know, there are those Skins out there that are very detailed, such as the one above in the cover photo. I know I seem like a bit of a jerk saying this, but I really don't like those kind of Skins. Three reasons why I don't like them are:
1. They just don't seem very Minecraft-esque, if you will. I mean, I know the people who make these kinds of Skins mean well, but in my opinion, it doesn't look good at all unless you're using a texture pack such as Paper Cut-out.
2. They make the skin hard to look at. I know some of the people reading this are now saying, "Why are you bashing on not being able to see the skin?! It's just a skin!" Well, I see Skins as a players' way of expressing themselves. I also see them as an art form. I mean, would you go to an art museum where all the lights are turned out and you can't see the paintings? No, you wouldn't. So why make a Minecraft Skin like that? It makes it a little bit difficult to tell what the person is trying to express through that Skin. Are they a person who thinks their character is an Atlantean, such as myself? Or are they a new player, with their neon, eye-melting colour scheme on their Skin? Or do they not care at all what their Skin looks like, and just do random colours? I persoanlly think that overly-detailed Skins make it hard to see what kind of personality that player has.
3. There are way too many of these skins. Almost every single Skin post I've seen lately has either a teen Skin (which I'm not too big of a fan of either, to be quite honest), or an overly-detailed Skin. I mean, I know there are people out there that do make those Skins, and others that use those skins, but I think that people should try other Skins as well, such as video game character Skins and other catagories, not just the Teen and Über-detailed aisles. There are other options, everyone.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed reading this Blog! Don't forget that you can Diamond and Favorite if you liked this, and even maybe a smack of the Subscribe button with your foot for more Blogs such as this one!
And as always...
Peace, love, and tridents!
