Hello, and welcome to my interview with the lovely Jasmine_! ♥ She is a very talented and quickly-rising skin creator who is known for her distinctive shading and styles that often incorporate cottagecore aesthetics. I hope you enjoy our interview! x
My questions are in brown; her answers are in light brown. x
1. What inspired you to start making Minecraft skins?
1. Well, I’ve always loved Minecraft, And have been playing it for 8+ years, i used to always slightly edit skins to wear in game,and I really enjoyed editing them! but i never really found any that I really loved. Me being an artist wanted to try making my own, therefore i started a skindex account to expand my skin making techniques, and make ones I could wear in game, and one day see other people wearing the skins i made.
2. How did you discover PMC? What is one of your favourite memories of the site?
2. I’ve always used pmc for maps, so i was quite familiar with the site. I started making skins on skindex, at the time i saw a lot of people mentioned pmc, therefore a lot of my favorite creators. i felt like i was missing out and decided to start my own account. I haven’t been on the site for too long, but definitely some of my favorite memories has been getting fanart and amazing feedback because it means so much to me!
3. Do you have a persona? If so, what inspired you to create them?
3. Yes i do! Cathryn she has been thought SO much change, ive been though so many personas, but i feel she represents me really well! She was inspired by one of my favorite aesthetics “cottagecore” and aspects of me irl!
4. Do you have a favourite submission that you've made? Your favourite that someone else has made?
4. My favorite submission of mine is probably this one I really how the hair turned out! I also really like this one i love the how the palette turned out. One of my favorite submissions made by someone else is probably this made by Mellie i just absolutely love that skin of hers. the hair, the palette, i just love it !
5. Who would you say has influenced or inspired you the most on PMC?
5. Mainly Mellie and aquarine! i love all their submissions so much! And they have really inspired me! <3
6. What other hobbies do you enjoy outside of PMC? Is there anything you've never done before, but would especially like to try doing in the future?
6. I like to play hockey on occasion, I’m just starting getting into digital art, and I really enjoy doing most things art related in my free time, and playing video games ofc, really anything chill and relaxing. I’d love to learn to play a instrument, maybe a violin!
7. What is one of your favourite memories here on PMC? An event you particularly enjoyed taking part in (official or community-held)?
7. I really enjoyed participating in skinfight this year! I had so much fun, and it was really exciting to see everyone else’s attacks and to get to participate with my friends!
8. What would you consider your greatest accomplishment here on PMC? In real life?
8. My greatest accomplishment on pmc has probably just been growing in general! I’ve improved making skins, socializing, and all the wonderful feedback makes me feel accomplished. Greatest accomplishment irl was probably building my own pc( haha, I’m lame) it took me five days, and weeks of research, but I figured it out on my own, and am proud of myself.
9. What advice would you give to a new PMC member?
9. The best advice i can give is just go at your own pace, sometimes it can be intimidating looking at professional creators submissions, but remember that they have been at this for years, and your doing the best you can at this point in time. And to always make what you want to and express yourself no matter what other people say.
10. What is one cause that you especially believe in? Would you like to say anything about it to the community?
10. Animal rights. I have been vegan almost my whole life, I feel animals are being treated wrongly, and i strongly believe that animals should be treated equally to humans.
11. Do you have a current goal for your content?
11. My current goal for my content is to fully develop my own style and to become satisfied with my own work. I’d also like to start expanding the genders i make, my main goal is to try to be more inclusive and satisfied!
12. How would you describe yourself in three words?
12. Humorous, introverted, indecisive
