Ok, before I even start ranting, I just want to say that this is all my opinion and
everyone is entitled to their own opinion. :)

SO... in this rant I wanted to discuss something that I wanted to talk about but
was not that "threatened" by back in 1.3. And that is the terrible future of minecraft!
Sure, since alpha, minecraft has become an innovative game and many features
are cool and can't be seen anywhere else. However, some of the new things added
to minecraft just don't appeal to me. Here is a specific rundown of each of the factors
that bother me.

REALISM

This one bothers me the most. Now, minecraft is not a realistic game. Everything is
made of blocks, Blocks float in midair, there are magic mobs. I understand that. I
also like that. Now, people say that minecraft is supposed to copy real life wilderness,
which I am in 99% disagreement about. So people who want more stuff from real
earth put into minecraft can go back to mo' creatures, equivalent exchange, and
256x256 texture packs, because I'm staying right where I am.

UPDATES

This is a big problem for me as well. Who else has had that experience when a new
update comes and there are no mods, servers, or texture packs ready for it? At
least Mojang can release some source code or something for modders, and for
the bukkit team and the spigot team to make servers for the new update faster.

1.7

I actually have problems with 1.7. And there is one thing I dislike about it. The biomes.
Now I honestly have been waiting for new biomes since 1.2.5, but to add almost double
the biomes in 1 update is actually a really stupid move by mojang. Just split it into
2 updates. Or 3. Or 10.

HAXX0RZ

I hate cheat mode in minecraft. I hate hackers in minecraft. I have been at a friends house
and he casually turns his laptop away from my line of vision while he x-rays for diamonds.
I mean, as updates come, over 50 new hacked clients with new ways to piss off your
friends are also expected.

Nah, I'm just playing :) but seriously, do you have to hack? I have 1 word for hackers. N00B.

MARKETING

Is it just me, or is Mojang doing a terrible job of marketing Minecraft? Mojang is kind of relying
on youtube and sites like PMC to do the marketing for them. Does SkyDoesMinecraft have to
obsess everyone about "budder" in order to make Minecraft more popular? Mojang thinks so, I
don't.

USER CONTENT

I have not seen high quality minecraft pixel art in a long time. I have not seen a high quality mod
since the Aether II mod. Seriously people, make some good stuff. If you're going to make it at
all. I'm not looking for controversy, I have made some junky work. I have over 10 texture packs,
and 6 of them are garbage. Believe me, I hate my own work sometimes.

AND FINALLY, SINGLE PLAYER

Ah, the abandoned art of single player. Who plays single player anymore? Me! Youtubers
sometimes. People who like survival. It's a fact that over 56% of minecraft players spend
2x more time on servers than on single player. And I certainly am not one of them.
