    Become The Shadow is a datapack, that allows you to become one with the shadow. Featuring a new structure, new achievements, and even a new boss fight, a fresh journey awaits!


    How to Become The Shadow


    First, go to the nether, and locate a Soul Sand Valley. There, you'll have to find a few of these structures, the Cages of The Damned Souls. (they spawn at y=33) Kill the light-blue entity inside to get a Damned Soul.

    Throw nine of those into a cauldron of water to fight The Wardens Of The Damned Souls! But make sure you are well-prepared - it is not an easy fight!


    When you defeat all the guardians (freeing a damned soul), you will get a Shadow. To Become The Shadow, die while holding it! (sorry hardcore players)

    Revoking the Shadow
    If you don't want to be the Shadow anymore, you can drink a bottle of water to Reject The Dark. But Beware - The Shadow will seek revenge...


    But... Why would I want to Become The Shadow?



    Great question! There are many benefits to it, including:
    • 40% Movement Speed Increase
    • Night Vision
    • Cool Black Particles

    Of course, as most things in life, life as The Shadow isn't perfect - being a Shadow, you can't stand in direct sunlight! But, knowing that the datapack jam that this datapack was made for, was hosted on Discord at first, that probably doesn't affect you.

    Uh, when i install the datapack it just straight up doesn't allow me to load the world without entering 'safe mode'

    I tested it using 1.18.2, could you try it on that version?

    In 1.18, 1.18.2 and 1.19 there were big changes in structure generation, and I can't think of anything else that would cause my datapack to fail to load.

    EDIT: Checked it once more, and sure enough, it works with 1.18.2
