Builder's Wands
Similar to the "Better Builder's Wands mod", but purely in Vanilla Minecraft. Works in Survival and Creative Mode. Multiplayer compatible. Versions 1.14 to 1.17
It comes in 4 tiers with increasing durability and max blocks they can set:
Installation
Crafting Recipe
To obtain the Builder's Wands you need to use 2 Sticks and one of these Materials: 1 type of stone, 1 Iron Ingot, 1 Diamond or 1 Nether Star. You put the sticks diagonally into a crafting bench, and the material in the top right. The output will show a knowledge book. When you take this from the output it will switch to the correct wand.
Using It
When the player holds a wand in the mainhand it projects particles onto any surface the player is looking at. Based on the mode particles will show the position of where blocks could be placed.
The Wand has different modes: line/area/free.
You can choose these modes by switching the wand from your mainhand into your offhand. You need an empty offhand for this. Standard key is f.
Then a chat message appears in which you have several clickable options highlighted in yellow inside the square brackets.
You can choose between 3 line modes and 3 area modes and 3 dynamic modes ([Line Mode only] / [Area Mode only] / [Adjust on rotation and available area]).
These dynamic modes incorporate the players rotation when placing blocks. in the Free Mode the available space at the block you're looking at is taken into account as well.
Uninstall
To completely remove this datapack from your world you'll need to run a function from chat:
This will remove the scoreboards that were added. Then you can close the world and delete the zip file. It might become necessary to close Minecraft completely since a message could pop up saying: "the file is still in use".
Additional Info for the 1.17-Version
The 1.17-release contains a breaking change for the wands from the 1.16-Version(s). Wands you crafted in that Version aren't usable anymore. To counteract this, I incorporated a way to update your wands. You need to open the info-message with this command:

There Won't be A Version for 1.18
It comes in 4 tiers with increasing durability and max blocks they can set:
- Stone Builder's Wand: Durability for 130 Blocks, 5 Blocks at once.
- Iron Builder's Wand: Durability for 250 Blocks, 9 Blocks at once.
- Diamond Builder's Wand: Durability for 1561 Blocks, 129 Blocks at once.
- Unbreakable Builder's Wand: Durability for ∞ Blocks, 1025 Blocks at once.
Installation
- Download the datapack
- Put the downloaded file inside the datapacks folder of your world folder.
- /reload if the world was open or restart your server (Operator-level required)
- Download Resource Pack and activate it (Otherwise Advancement screen shows a barrier texture)
- If the datapack is installed correctly, You should see this in the advancement tab:

A new Version for Minecraft 1.17 is here!
All new blocks can now be placed. Even blocks which aren't available in the game normally. Rails respect waterlogging now, also a 1.17 change.
If you have wands from the 1.16-Version you need to update those. Look in the info-message ingame as well as the info on this page. That's a change for better performance, so it had to be done.

I'm still waiting for you to update.
pls update now.But I tried it in 1.18 and the stone, item and Diamond Wand's break after one use.
May you could fix that?
