This datapack allows you to drop an egg on a mob to capture it.

When the datapack is enabled, it will announce to chat.

Every mob that has a spawn egg(1.17) can be captured. To capture a mob, drop an egg on them and they will be captured. Note: Droppers cannot capture mobs.

I am pretty sure it works. I just haven't changed the compatibility number. 1.17 mobs still do not work.

can you make it possible to capture mobs without spawn eggs? it is possible by changing the id of a spawn egg to that mob

Too bad we can't capture Iron Golems, Snow Golems, Withers and Ender Dragons. Because they don't have spawn eggs.

It would be possible to configure it to capture these actually (probably be buggy with enderdragon) by using already existing spawn eggs and changing the id of the mob in the spawn egg.

a Friendly suggestion but instead of flat out /kill the mobs why not Spawn the egg and then teleport them under bedrock(-5 should be fine) and then killing that mob? that way the player doesn't have to watch the "death animation".
