This datapack allows you to create a building plan.
When you set a destination with the building plan you can use it to fill a large area without moving because it moves the blocks you place to the destination. To craft a building plan, combine paper with blue dye.

With Vein Miner installed, you can create a destruction plan with red dye and paper. The destruction plan restricts the vein mining bounds.

Update #2 : by Endernice61 03/24/2024 8:02:35 pmMar 24th
Updated to the latest snapshot.
As of snapshot 24w10a, recipes now directly output the plans.
There may be a bug where they don't work in the latest snapshot, but it mysteriously got fixed so idk.

1 - Craft the Building Plan with a blue dye and a paper. It becomes a carrot on a stick - based item in your inventory.
2 - Right click a single block with this Building Plan.
3 - Go stand still somewhere with a bunch of buildy blocks.
4 - Place a buildy block and watch it vanish. It has teleported to as close to the set coordinates as it can get, in order of x, then y, then z.
5 - Place another buildy block. It will teleport to as close as now IT can get. If there is something in the way, like the first block, then this new block will get as close as IT can get.
6 - So long as you pay attention to your own xyz, with respect to the set xyz, then you can plan what order you need to place blocks on the ground, so they can make an object you want to build.
7 - Once you have finished building, you right click with the Building Plan again, and it will stop teleporting things you place on the ground wherever you are.
Let's pretend you want to build a sky scraper, but don't want to carry 4 chests of materials and jump jump jump for the next couple hours. Instead, you use the Building Plan to mark the top far corner. Then, you go back to the ground and stand near your chests. You click click click on the ground, alternating between wall and window materials, until the first wall is built. There is no way to build air space, so plan accordingly, by maybe using something soft like dirt. Then, once all the blocks are placed, all you have to do is go dig dirt to clear out the spaces you don't want to be filled.
I have not tested the range on this, but it seems not to care if the chunk is loaded. It just dutifully puts a block in the coordinate.
Thank you Endernice61 for this indispensable building tool. As someone who builds MASSIVE projects, this drastically reduces the need for either fly or scaffolding. Perhaps you could use my explanation in your description. I plan on using this on my town building series I'm about to start. Also, I've learned that it is best practice to pretend that everyone who wants to use your creations has the focus and concentration of a gnat. Users need a clear, step-by-step instruction on how to use something. Videos help, but I think this is a good enough explanation.
I am better at explaining things to computers than explaining things to people.
After you have set it you place blocks to fill in the area without moving.
