This data pack alters the behavior of hostile mobs, rendering them passive, with the exception of the (ender dragon and phantom). The mechanism involves disabling the AI of aggressive mobs and spawning an invisible, invulnerable pillager in their place, directing their movement (because a pillager without weapon is passive). This may cause some mobs to behave oddly, such as slimes not jumping and all mobs adopting the hitbox of a pillager. Consequently, hitting smaller mobs may prove challenging due to the pillager's larger hitbox. This data pack is particularly useful for scenarios where hostile mobs are desired for ambiance but should not attack players, as in hide and seek or cave exploration maps. Customization is possible by adjusting the load.mcfunction file to specify which mobs are affected.

couldn't you also set all mobs to be on the players team? Also pretty sure mobs have an attribute that determines how far they see, could bring that to zero

The problem with the team is if you use it on a map where you need different teams for different players, you can't use it since a mob can only be on one team. And if you set the follow range distance to 0, they won't follow you but will still hit you if you get in range of their attack. You could also set their attack damage to 0 so they won't damage you, but a creeper or ghast will still be able to attack, a skeleton or any ranged mob too, and they still try to attack you. So for the use I had of this data pack, that wasn't a solution.
