Hello PMC!

Today, we're introducing collaborative threads on PMC! Brought to us by Paril in collaboration with Cyprezz :D

What are collaborative threads?

Collaborative threads allow an author plus up to 10 members to collaborate on a single thread.

Why collaborate on a thread?

We love the community hosted contests and events and think collaborative threads will allow multiple hosts to divide up or better manage their active threads.
After that, we have future ideas but it's really up to your creative minds to think of why you'd collaborate on a thread with friends. Feel free to share your ideas in this thread or jump right into collaborating :D

How to start a NEW collaborative thread?

1. Create a new thread
2. Draft or Publish the initial contents
3. Edit the thread and click "Collaborate" near the bottom.
4. Invite collaborators!

How to make an existing thread collaborative?

1. Edit the thread
2. Click "Collaborate" near the bottom
3. Invite collaborators!

Invited to be a collaborator on a thread?

If you're invited to be a collaborator on a thread, you'll receive a notification. You can choose to accept or decline. If you decline, you won't be invited again unless you allow them to. If you accept, you'll be listed as a collaborator of the thread!

What can collaborators change?

Collaborators have permission to edit the thread title, description icon and poll.
Collaborators don't have permission to manage collaborators, publish drafts or draft a published thread.

Check out system

If you're collaborating on a thread, you may eventually run into the check out system. This system prevents multiple collaborators from overwriting changes. We just wanted to mention it here in anticipation of the question arising. The system itself does a good job of explaining and managing control.

But wait... there's Bonus Forum Updates!

While testing the system, we revamped the forum navigation, tweaked multiple UI features and introduced a brand new member menu into the side column on Desktop.

This will allow you to quickly access:

• My Threads
• My Replies
• Upvoted Threads
• Favorite Threads
• and customize your forum by managing your subscriptions to forums & reviewing any threads you hid.
