    it really does suck, because its not like you can put a watermark on a mc skin anyways -- the resolution is too gosh darn small

    Hello, this is my first time writing a wall post! I'm writing this to give you guys an update and get your input on future skins!

    Here's the update. Right now I'm currently working on a project I've wanted to do forever, which is to make skins for all 32 NHL teams (home, away, and possibly 3rd jerseys too). Attached is a picture of the Chicago Blackhawks' home jersey.

    And here's where I want your input. What comic skins are you guys wanting to see? There are a bunch of Marvel and DC characters that I still haven't made and I would love to know which characters you would like made.

    First of all, I'd like to thank you for your work. It's so nice to see so many characters with a consistent style and palette. I enjoy every skin. You also inspire me to return to my skins.

    Honestly, after updating your palette and the current (?) Avengers and F4 lineup, I assumed you'd update some of the Spider-Man skins. I thought some characters didn't get updated models (Goblin and Hobgoblin, for example). Correct me if I'm wrong. I'd really like to see Carnage, Agent Venom, Anti-Venom, Spot, Beetle, Tinkerer, and other lesser-known villains from the gallery.

    It would also be interesting to see more cosmic characters (Guardians of the Galaxy, for example) and street-level/mystical ones (Moon Knight, Jessica Jones, Blade, etc.).

    And of course, DC, possibly an updated Justice League lineup and their popular villains.

    Sorry,I was not active, i had some problems with my health. I had a chirurgical operation last month in one eye and my eyesight is not optimal for make a good job.That's the reason i didn't make some new skins the last 6 months. I had grey star and a hole in the retina; I see distorted and, I have to be patient, it comes better... In a year or two, i had to go for the other eye...

    It's because actual creative fashion skins are no longer given attention, or at least a fraction of what they used to, or at least just aren't used and therefore seen by less people than they should. Most people who use skins are looking for minimalistic, monochromatic designs; I started noticing this trend half a decade ago and made a sort of parody skin out of it but it's actually my second best skin...
    As such, current artists are often going with the flow and trying to create the same designs over and over to try and get some recognition. It's actually really sad. Creativity is no longer rewarded with people actually using the skins :T you can have all the diamonds and hearts, but you'll never actually see them in-game.

    but otherwise I think the huge disconnect has gotten a lot narrower in more recent years (despite our communities I think being different to what it used to be/shrinking in *some* aspects) younger/newer generations of players are a lot more in tuned with things that look good and with the development of marketplace platforming and rewarding well developed content I think it’s become a lot more commonplace than it has been in the past, I’ve seen content creators now do commissions for multiple skins off skin artists, modellers etc. I remember back in the day skindex too did not have the content it does now on it and I think that progress is incredible.

In my experience most people I see in game wear what you or I would consider the lower effort or lower skill skins and even a lot of youtubers wear these sort of skins. Not to mention part picking programs are still common place, even if they are different ones from 10 years ago. I feel as if they have always lended themselves better to lower skill content as it becomes more difficult the more complicated a skin gets to use parts of it on another skin and have it look like it all matches.

    ⭐ The Redemption Pool & Star Queue

    The biggest addition made possible by the website is a new redemption system that encourages consistency and keeps more players involved each week.
    • Submit a skin every week to stay eligible!
    • You never know when you might get added to the redemption pool. To secure a chance to rejoin the bracket, we encourage you to keep making skins every week!
      (This is optional. If you are done for the season, that's ok.)

    • Redemption Pool = close losses from the previous week.
    • Submitting a skin while in the Pool can earn you stars.

    • Star Queue = a priority line based on how many stars you’ve earned.
    • Skipping a week removes you from the Star Queue and resets your stars.

    • Redemption Pool resets weekly; stars only reset if you skip.
    This system rewards reliability, gives more players a chance to step in as replacements, and adds a fun new layer of strategy to the season.

    Those who earned stars but we didn't need them as a replacement, will still get honorable mentions at the end of the season.

    Redemption lists and star queue information is all displayed on the website!

    SSPBL classic 1 week 1 is now live!

    Thank you everyone for entering our preliminary jam, we got 61 contestants locked and loaded for a full season of SSPBL Classic 1! The week 1 match-ups can be found on the SSPBL group profile together with the palette for the week. We will generate the full bracket during week 1. Note that we have generated the match-ups through a random sampler. 3 participants will not have match-ups for week 1, but we still require they make a skin to make it to week 2.

    I will also notify a few people who used colours that deviated a bit too much from the preliminary palette in their preliminary skin - we figure these are incidental/accidental so no one is dq'ed out of the preliminaries.

    As for the palette; for week 1, we want to take you back to one of the original PBL palette tropes that I call the "two-paths" palette. The first season of PBL I ever entered used this palette scheme week 1 and I feel it always makes for great fun.

    For week 1 I also want to welcome a new member of the SSPBL team. Two-time winner wqtermxlon is joining the team and has already contributed to palette testing for this week. Please welcome them to the team!

    SSPBL is back! This time in a new experimental season where we return to the roots of PBL: A PBL that was made without gimmicks and without colour grids. A PBL where you mostly got 12 colours and then had to make a skin using just those colours. We call this concept SSPBL classic. Apart from the changes to palettes and lack of gimmicks, everything else you know and love about SSPBL will be the same for the season!

    To enter the SSPBL classic season, please make a skin with the preliminary round palette and submit it to our season preliminary jam: SSPBL Classic I - Preliminaries Jam on Planet Minecraft


    For the preliminary round, we have prepared a 12 colour autumn inspired palette. Cranio and I have tirelessly worked to test the palette to make sure you can use it in a multitude of ways, and I can happily say that we think you'll find working with these 12 colours a lot of fun:

    More than 8 years of PMC! That's a long time... I remember, I had very limited English skills and was a computer noob. That got me into a lot of trouble, including posting wrong pictures and didn't know to undo them and such things... I also mixed things up in English, for example, the word faggot and maggot in a skin title, which got me reprimanded by a mod in PMC. Or I asked the community what that word meant, and it was something related to se*ual practices. I embarrassed myself. I also had the stupid habit of copying the palette from a skin and instead of using a new, neutral skin, i scribbled over the ones that weren't mine. Even though I put a completely different skin on it, a signature or forgotten pixels or something remained, and someone noticed, and all hell broke loose.     Im a bit late but happy anniversary! Believe it or not you actually are the one person that i looked up to and inspired me to make Minecraft skins at all, and dang I have come a long way and I'm still improving. Also, you are fine with the mistakes in English it can be a pretty tricky at times language lol.

    Thanks a lot for your kind words... Yes google translate is a little help,but sometime it makes only a non sens! My first language is french(Swiss) and my second is German(Swiss too,lol!.
