First things first
I cannot make a perfect 1:1 scale for several reasons. The few maps I have are not extremely detailed and the models and
reconstructions are themselves also representations of what it might have looked like. Moreover, different sources give different
measurements, with height of structures being by far the most diverse. Regarding the details of the buildings, many walls contained art such as statues, decorated panels and masks, of extraordinary complexity. Yet with 1 block being 1 cubic metre, detailed art on buildings is almost impossible to recreate. This is just the nature of reconstructing a ruin with Minecraft, and is something I (and others) have to accept.

Some background information regarding Copán:
Copán, sometimes called the Athens of the Maya area, was a beautiful city with an astonishing amount of monuments. No other city has documented its existence as accurate and elaborate as Copán did. The city was already an important site in the Preclassic Period, but was later refounded by an outsider. In 426 CE a man whose name was K'uk' Mo' Ajaw, arrived at Copán and likely married into the local royal family. His arrival is recorded on various monuments, most prominently on Altar Q. By analysing his bones and teeth, archaeologists have found that this man was not a native from the Copán area. Analyses have shown that this man was probably descendent of Tikal, perhaps even the great Central-Mexican metropolis Teotihuacan. In Tikal, the name K'uk' Mo' Ajaw surfaced, a name also mentioned on Altar Q. Strontium analysis however have given a new turn to this question, and K'inich Yax K'uk' Mo' seems to have been an individual who originated from the Maya site of Caracol, Belize, which makes his story of traveling and founding a new dynasty even more fascinating.

Gracias. Got a little more time on my hands now, with all the fuss surrounding the pandemic. Might change in the near future of course, but we'll see.

I hope it's not perm. You should look into mcedit and world painter. They could help you with some of them angles and terrain issuses. There could be better programs but those are the ones I work with

Thank you for the tip! I will look into them, but for now I have found another simple solution for my newest project. I have used superflat worlds with overworld jungle biome. A perfectly forested map, with no hills to worry about ^^
And if I need hills, I will make them myself.
