Hello and welcome to my submission of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Building a pyramid in Minecraft is something I've wanted to do ever since I first played the game, but is something I've put off from doing due to the incredible size and tedious work.
I have finally decided to do it and here is my first submission from start to finish.
It's made in a 1:1 scale and I have now finished the layout grid for it.
2 questions that might arise when seeing this
Why is the outer layer white and gold at the top?
- I decided to make it look the way it did when it was first built as I have loose plans of making this an entire world based off the Ancient Egypt era. When it was first built they used white limestone for the outer layers and while the gold cap at the top is debated if it ever existed, I chose to go for it because I think it makes it look cooler.
Why is the angle weird and not 45 degrees?
- While the pyramid might look like a perfect triangle from pictures, it's actually steeper than that. I took the help from pixel grids in order to calculate the correct angle from the edge to the middle while maintaining the 1:1 scale. It might look a bit weird now, but once it's completed I don't think it will be too noticeable and I'd rather have it accurate scale-wise than the nicest look.
