Before the first fire department was build in Lucrécy, many major cities had a voluntary based fire service. These services had access to huge towers in the cities to oversee it and to shout in case of fire to warn the inhabitants. Most times these places were the towers of cathedrals or townhalls.

In Favourite, where the imperial family resided until their move to Lucrécy, the first real fire department was founded in 1609. To prevent the, at this time, very wood-based architecture from burning down or even to spread to the palace, Empereur Célestin IV detached a whole regiment to watch over the city. Therefor he created a new typus of public buildings. The oldest fire department had a rectangular layout, space for carriages in the inner courtyard and a huge tower to watch over the city and a bell to warn the people, as a bell is way more effective than to shout in the streets.

As the imperialty moved to Lucrécy, the voluntary groups in the city where united and enforced with members of the army like in Favourite. While the renovation period in the capital, many new building were planned and build and even a new main fire department was planned near the new center. Caused by the fact that the demand for a new fire department was not too high, the plans got postponed.

After the explosion of the old state opera, the building facing the former front of the opera was heavily damaged through the shattering parts and had to be demolished. This property got intended for the fire department which got started in 1758 and finished in Fall 1760. Since then it is not just the biggest fire station in Lucrécy, it is also accommodates the fire administration and is home to the bureau of the fire protection commissioner.

The ground floor of the fire department with its thick, red brick pillars is related to the pillars of the viaduct next to it. It also features a passage in the middle to the rear side of the rectangular building leading to the colonnade for the carriages. The spococonian building (very close to baroque) is determined by the middle front facade and its huge central tower with the golden bell. Beneath the tower is a two story high vestibule which structures the middle facade framed by two little towers at each side and two at the backfront and a senseless deco-shit gable in the center. The two side wings are just one story above the ground floor, a fully developed attic, a volute gable in the middle of the side facede and two small towers at each side of each wing to remind to the times when the warnings were shout in the streets.
