We all know and love the Pantheon (big old round building in Rome). I was reading about the bronze trusses that once held up the roof of the portico but were unceremoniously melted down into cannons by one pope Urban VIII in the 17th century. I then realised that I have to do them justice, and put them back in once more (no bronze block in Minecraft but copper would have to do). This started my journey into recreating this ancient marvel.
However I don't really like copying historical buildings one to one, I think this removes a part of the creative process, or perhaps I just can't be bothered looking up every small detail to make sure it is the same. Hence my pantheon is more of a impression rather than a copy. This is most visible in the very portico which has been given taller larger columns (as was in fact originally envisaged but was too complicated to do), and the resulting slope change of the pediment roof. It is now more resembling the Parthenon in terms of its overall appearance apart from the use of the corinthian order.
Interior is a mixture of original ancient Roman look with some Renaissance modifications. Hence I painted the dome slightly, but not too much, because originally it would've been painted, yet I did not want to break the somewhat austere look it has today. The fake windows are from Renaissance too, they look better to my eyes tbh.
I also wanted to put the statues in the niches, especially of Augustus and Caesar in the portico, but then realised I can't be bothered, maybe I will do them later. Same goes for the baths of Agrippa which would be adjacent to the back of the Pantheon.
Cool! Thanks for reading this if you did, I hope you like the build!
P.S. I hopefully attached the map, for best results use stratum textures, this is the pack I built with.

The complexity, perspective, and the effort should be considered as a triumph! This is beautiful!
