After over 3 weeks of paranormal encounters, IGEBM, Si, and Storm have realized that it's probably best that they call an expert for advice. However, before they can do that, they must find a way to provide a signal strong enough to reach the Mainland.
Storm stands on the roof of Shiver Mansion, holding a signal antenna that he plans to fasten to the wood below him so the trio can contact former Cryptic Family Aspect of Horror Guts in PMC City. He is being soaked by the rain, and he's terrified that he'll be struck by lightning. "Almost done?" IGEBM shouts at him from the balcony on the second floor, where he and Si are watching their friend work. "I haven't put it down yet!" Storm responds. "Well, hurry up!" Si shouts back. Storm kneels down and begins to use extra-sticky tape to attach the antenna to the roof. He finishes a few seconds later. "Test!" he shouts down to his friends. IGE goes inside and opens the Phone app on his phone, calling the house phone for his apartment in the city. He gives Si a thumbs up as the call goes through. "It works!" Si shouts. "Woo-hoo!" Storm cheers. He begins to climb down the ladder, which Si holds for him.
After he's changed clothes, Storm joins his friends in the library, where they've propped IGE's phone up against his box of Dungeons & Dragons magic item cards. "Hey, did you ever get your spell cards?" Si asks. "Nope." IGE responds. "Turns out they were stolen at the post office. I've been putting off ordering another set." "Are we ready?" Storm asks as he sits down. "Yeah, we were just waiting for you." IGE answers. He unlocks his phone and opens the Phone app again, selecting Guts' contact. The call goes through, and the master of fear answers.
"Hello, IGE." he says in his usual eerie tone. "Hey Guts!" IGE says. "It's me, Si, and Storm. I don't know if you heard, but we've been on Shiver Island since the 1st." "And we've been encountering a bunch of ghosts." Si adds. "I accidentally unleashed evils spirits." Storm tells him. "And then on Tuesday we had to battle a possessed soul-eating pumpkin." "Wait, wait, wait, Shiver Island?" Guts asks, sounding concerned. "You accepted the invite? Oh no..." "What's wrong?" Si asks, now also sounding concerned. Guts pauses before responding. "I'll tell you all tomorrow." he says. "I have to go to work. Apparently Silence escaped from prison." "Good luck." Si says, knowing what dealing with Silence is like. "Bye!" IGE says. "Bye!" Storm repeats. Guts hangs up.

A Couple of Things
I actually do have magic item cards for D&D, and I was inspired to put them in the story because they're on my desk next to my laptop as I'm writing this. My spell cards being stolen from the post office is a true story, and it happened a few weeks ago. Don't know how, but it annoys me.
Guts working at a prison (specifically PMC World Prison) is a nod to his real-life job as a prison guard (if my memory serves me correct). Silence was arrested at the end of PMC: Apocalypse, where Si and Dr. Golden trapped him in his shadow form in a special container using a vacuum-like device made by the latter. I might make a Guts spotlight series next year that explains more about his backstory while also following the hunt for Silence to recapture him. (Literally just an idea I came up with while writing this blog.)
Yes, the full history of the mansion is finally being revealed! All will soon be answered!

on the Mainland, there's the PMC World Prison, which is a maximum-security prison where the worst offenders (ex: people who committed federal crimes, like terrorists) go
one of the Tales From PMC is about Emmin being released from it (the lore equivalent of her getting unbanned)
there's also jails in every city, naturally
