DownVote... why do it?

Something has hit me the last few days... I notice there is a up vote button and a down vote button... that's where I disagree... if somebody doesn't like a project, texture pack, skin, server, blog, mod, or anything else they might have come across during there travels through this site, why down vote?... why why not just give constructive criticism i'm sure that would be alot more appreciated, so next time you don't like something, just leave a little comment saying what you didn't like about it and the odds are the developer would change that just for you don't use the down vote button... no need.

Its not gonna get popular if its not good so whats the point of downvoting? Just give them constructive criticism. Some dick went through my page and down voted everything which does no good

You just knew from the moment you posted this, someone would just have to down vote it. I did up-vote this though, it's nice to read someone else's article who feels the same way about it. I posted something allot like this a while ago, it's just redundant to un-constructively criticise.
