hey-hey all,

regarding some recently-deleted posts, please be mindful that the staff team is all for showing love and support for others. we want you guys to be there for one another, and recognize the value in having a community you can fall back on for reassurance through highs, but especially through lows.

but, we also need to be mindful of how we communicate our support for others. it's easy to fall into some bad habits that can, maybe counterintuitively, hurt more than they help. that's not to say that the term "suicide" is forbidden. i know it's a touchy subject, and the word itself kind of sticks to the roof of your mouth, but september is suicide prevention awareness month and it's good to be up front, and to use the proper term for this particular type of crisis scenario.

the problem (if you can call it that, but i don't think of it as a "problem" so much as a "misunderstanding") isn't that you guys are trying to help, or that your vocabulary is crass or offensive. please know that. i love that you guys help each other through rough patches.

our team is just worried for the possibility that users may feel pressure to act as crisis councilors, as opposed to as friends or those who would like to show support. this kind of pressure can have a negative effect on other peoples' mental health, especially in those individuals who do not have professional training in crisis counseling.

if you feel a fellow PMC user is in genuine crisis, that is, you believe they're in danger of harming themselves and/or others, please contact our team before you contact anyone else. report the comment/wallpost/forums post, or else make a private ticket and/or send a private message to our team. we regularly connect people with resources for help.

I reached level 62 with only a few more subscribers left until 800 !!

today's skin remakes are....... plague knight and specter knight from shovel knight!! i liked both of these fairly-well when i made them but was really frustrated by the shape of the plague mask on plague knight (and im still not entirely happy w it but i think it's a step in the right direction!!)

with these remakes i was really trying to bring them closer in-line with the reference material (colors + design) while also making the shading more interesting to look at :]

These past few years have been a real test on my mental fortitude. I'm not doing well, but no one would be in my current circumstance.

It's a very cringe way to start off this little post to the void of the internet for anyone to see but I want to get a weird thought off my mind.

Roleplay, especially on minecraft, has been a medium and place where I've developed and grown up on. I never put too much thought into what it is I uploaded on this place, but I always did things for the different communities that I was involved in. People forget, and history will always forget the little or large things that you do even if you want to leave a mark on the world. No matter how hard I tried as a kid to have a memorable moment with people, I've come to accept- and grew comfortable, that it'll all be forgotten anyways; so who cares what occurs in the moment?

I never expected people to recognize me, years later, for any work I've published on PMC. But every now and then, the tik-tok algorithm sends it my way, different people in different spaces using my work. Or sometimes, I'll join a new place, and I have people who recognize me from my minecraft gamer-tag.

It's not bad, but I can't help but flinch (lol). It's nice (lovely in fact) to hear from different people who have used my old skinning templates to help get a start on a new hobby. I also love seeing the progress that they've made over the years with art and skins. Yet it's made me realize how harsh the past few years have really been on me and my confidence-- that I'll get lambasted for uploading instead of keeping it hidden.

Recent encounters with a few clients (art comms) sometimes makes me worried that I'm not projecting myself as positively as I want. I have to work on improving my poker-face from here moving forward. Everything has been just a little sad, but it gives me some peace if my very old projects have served some use to some people. Maybe, who knows, I might do it again or update what's already out there :shrug:

It's been awhile since I've posted anything, mostly due to not getting mods to work with recent updates. Anyway, if Hytale should ever get Conquest textures, I may very well be tempted to pitch my tent over there.


On another note, I've always preferred keeping my maps free for everyone to enjoy, but I wish it had occurred to me about a decade ago to set up a tip jar of sorts, for those who enjoy my work enough to shed a buck or two. But I got one now! Tip Jar

today's skin remakes are majoras wrath and auril frostmaiden!!! two more skins i wasn't super proud of when i posted them x many yrs ago... but now i think they're pretty spiffy :]

my fave part of remaking old skins is trying 2 squeeze more personality/detail into the face... i feel like it's the part of the skin u can express urself thru the most and the combination of all the traits and how theyre put together can really make a skin feel unique to that artist (eyes high or low? eyebrow/lash shape? eye size? 2x2? 1x1? bigger?)

i redid my micolash recently and im rlly happy with how it turned out cause i got a little more experimental with the face and i think it looks way more like him than it did b4!!!

i love to update skins without doing an update log entry so nobody realizes ive updated the skin until days/months/years later . . . it's like leaving behind little presents or easter eggs

i did these three this month!! they're ones i wasn't really happy with WHEN they were posted so getting to update them x many years later once ive developed my skillset more is soopa satisfying

i reached level 60 :3
