Woland is a character in the novel by M.A. Bulgakov's "The Master and Margarita", the devil, a powerful representative of dark forces, the ruler of the other world. However, contrary to our understanding, in the writer’s depiction Woland is not the personification of unconditional Evil: all the character’s actions are aimed at restoring justice and order. A strict and demanding judge, he wisely decides the destinies of people, rewarding everyone according to their deeds.
