In the wake of yesterday's forest fire and the discovering of a pentagram on one of the burnt trees, Storm is curious and has decided to return to the "Everything Paranormal" section of the library to learn more about dark rituals.
Storm walks up the stairs and into the library, turning right into the "Everything Paranormal" aisle. "Let's see... unholy rituals..." he says to himself, looking closely at the titles on the spines. He starts to pull out a few books, including Rituals of Darkness, The Black Book of Demonic Spells and Rituals, and, most interestingly, Unholy Rituals 101, written by Sitan LaVey. "Sitan LaVey... that sounds familiar... oh wait, he's the guy that tried to sacrifice ten PMCers to a dark god... yep, this'll do." Storm goes to seating area at the center of the library and sets the books on coffee table, beginning to read through them. After a few hours, he gets to LaVey's, and soon finds something concerning:
The Ritual of Heavenly Ascension
Necessary Materials: at least 2 other people, one devout living PMCer (willing or unwilling), 20 or more souls, one knife (preferably a sharp one), rope, 4 wooden stakes, red chalk, 5 candles, something to light the candles
This is perhaps one of the most powerful rituals of all the ones I have described. It is used to allow beings that have died and remained on PMC to ascend to the afterlife. First, draw a pentagram with a circle around it in red chalk on the floor. Then, place the candles on each point of the star and light them. The third step involves placing four wooden stakes next to four candles (on the side inside the pentagram) and tying the PMCer to them from their wrists and ankles. The second-to-last step is that you must cut them so their blood stains the ritual circle, strengthening the already-present unholy energies. Last but not least, light the stakes and rope on fire and hold the PMCer. Let the flames engulf you both and allow his life energies and the spiritual energies of the souls around you to allow to ascend. Bear in mind that this ritual will only work if the PMCer being sacrificed is a true believer in Cyprezz and Paril and follows their way in their everyday life.
As he reads, he notices marks and annotations in the margins of the text, saying things like "Where should I do this?" and "Who should I ask to assist me?" Most worryingly, however, there was a light splotch of red ectoplasm on the corner of the page. "Someone's read this before..." Storm says to himself. "And they don't seem to have been alive when they did." He runs downstairs to inform his friends about the book.

So, I had to revise the ritual description the night before the blog posted because I was rereading the guide blog and I saw that I had gotten the details of the ritual wrong. (That’s what I get for thinking I remembered my own series’ plot. Take it from a Grandmaster Loremaster: lore is hard to keep track of.) Thus, I had to modify the text so it would fit the original ritual mentioned in the plot for day 29. If you’ve read the guide and know the plot for the rest of the series, and how Storm is in real life/on PMC, then you can guess where this is going and what’ll happen to him in the final leg of the story.
To address the whole Sitan LaVey thing, his name is a reference to the founder of the religion of Satanism, Anton LaVey. (No, I am not a Satanist. I just thought this would be a fun little reference/joke to include.) As you can probably guess, his first name is just Satan but with an i replacing the first a.
