On the third day of their stay at Shiver Mansion, IGEBM, Si, and Storm examined mysterious goop found in a shack Si discovered in the woods. After suspecting something paranormal was up with the substance, they disposed of it and made a plan to research it in the library the next day.

IGEBM, Si, and Storm walk up the stairs and into the library, whereupon they visit the "Everything Paranormal" aisle. Storms finds a book titled Ghost Anatomy and pulls it out, thinking it might be helpful. He leads the group to the center area, where they sit down and prepare to read. Before they can, however, they hear a light thud above them. "That's the fifth time I've heard those sounds coming from up there." IGE says. "I wanna know what's causing it." Si stands on the coffee table and pulls a latch, which causes a step ladder to swing down from the ceiling. He climbs up, followed by IGE. Storm leaves the book on his seat and climbs up after them.

They look around the attic, and see nothing but boxes upon boxes of things. "There's... nothing here." IGE says. He looks around for a light switch, but finds none, so he creates a small orb of light in his hand and leaves it floating in the air above the step ladder. The group starts to walk around, the flashes of lightning in the window briefly helping the orb to illuminate the room. They start opening up boxes, and find various trinkets, including plastic containers with smudge sticks, red chalk, a guitar and accompanying picks, and old clothes. They spend a few more minutes looking around and come to the conclusion that they were probably hearing things.

Later, IGE reads through a book of Avantasia sheet music for alto saxophones in the library. "Hmm, maybe I could try playing 'The Moonflower Society?" he says to himself as he flips through the pages trying to determine what song he should practice next. "Or 'The Wicked Rule the Night.' Oh, but I really like 'Ghost in the Moon!' Then again, that does have a piano intro. I could try learning the piano notes instead of the sax." As he keeps reading, he hears footsteps above him. The writer quickly puts down the book, leaps onto the coffee table, pulls down the step ladder, and rushes up to the attic. When he gets up there, a lightning flash grants him a brief glimpse of a clear and pale figure wearing a suit, before it fades out of existence and the light disappears. "Either I took my magic powder today for some reason and forgot about it or I just saw a ghost." IGE says to himself, before running downstairs to tell the others about what he saw.

"So you think you saw a ghost?" Si asks IGE when he tells him and Storm in the kitchen about what happened a few minutes ago. "I'm positive." IGE answers. "Or you're on your magic powder." Storm jokes. "Hahaha, Storm, I didn't bring it with me anyways." IGE responds. "Well, either way, maybe we should set up a camera or something." Si suggests. "I have one in my bag." Storm says. "I'll go get it." He runs upstairs and comes back with a black camcorder. He then leads the group back upstairs, all the way up to the attic, where they come up with a plan. "We'll hide this behind some boxes and turn on the night vision setting." IGE explains. "Tomorrow morning, we'll come back up here and review the footage." "Sounds like a plan to me." Si says. Storm turns on the night vision setting on the camcorder, presses play, and sets in between some boxes, hidden from sight. With everything in place, he goes back downstairs with IGE and Si.

TOMORROW - "BASEMENT SCREAMS!"

Are there any other PMCers in this story besides me, Si, and Storm?

There are three other PMCers in the series, those being TheCrypteral and @OrderOutOfChaos, who appear as ghosts on days 14 and 15, and Guts N Pixels, who appears on the phone on days 24 and 25. Otherwise, the only other characters in the series are OCs, the main ones being the Hermit (day 8), the Scarecrow (day 16), the Hell-o-Lantern (day 17), the Mechanic (day 20), and Mr. Shiver (days 25, 28, 29, 30, and 31). I normally try not to have OCs in my stories, with the only exceptions so far having been the Crimson Butchers, a team of piglin warriors from PMC: War on the Nether. If I ever do include an OC, it's normally because I need "throwaway characters" that can appear for a short time and be gotten rid of without causing problems in the lore. This rule exists because my policy for characters deaths in my lore is that they can only be killed off if they leave the site (like TheCrypteral and @OrderOutOfChaos). For example, I was tempted to make the Hermit be EccentricEremite ("eremite" literally means "a Christian hermit or recluse"), but since he's supposed to disappear not long after he first appears, it can't be him.
