The Netherworld Minecraft Data Pack

Introduction:

As I was about to update my Floating Nether Islands world generator, I realized that what I dug into is way much more work and does much more than I expected it would. The world generator changed so much, the structure generation too and the point anymore is not on the floating islands but the feel of the whole world. It's just so different than vanilla. It took me several days, digging into code, replacing bits there with various tools, just to find out it's not enough then dig deeper and deeper. There were several days when I worked from 8 am to next day's 2 am just because I was so frustrated that I cannot achieve the structure generation I sought because it'd require me to go through 190 files one by one. Thus, I feel like I don't want to mix this generator anymore with my Floating Nether Islands generator because it feels so different and in fact, the world doesn't want to generate floating islands anymore but a regular overworld just deformed so much it looks like as if. But enough of useless explanations of dev logs. Here we go.

Features:
  • The Overworld Generates only nether biomes, plains and river plains
  • River for water
  • Plains for regular ores
  • Piglins and hoglins are safe, they won't transform into zombies
  • Villages, outposts and mansions generate too, they're completely revamped to generate structures more fitting in a nether environment
  • Villages generate in nether wastes, plains, river and crimson forests
  • Pillager outposts generate in nether wastes and plains but not in nether biomes
  • Mansions generate in warped forests only
  • Customized water, sky, foliage, grass colors in each biome
  • Mobs spawn all day! Enjoy suffering :)
  • Two editions: Normal and one without ghasts

I wish I could do that easily with data packs. But it'd be way easier with texture packs for sure :D

I'm pretty sure that'd be an easily achievable feat if I had an useable mediocre PC. However, my graphic card is well... dead after 6 months of usage and the service isn't responding thus I cannot make new, maintain and repair already existing data packs. Since my CPU doesn't have integrated graphics card, I don't have any spare money and GPU prices keep skyrocketing. Sorry but isn't possible to do yet from my part.

Thank you man. I really worked a lot with this one. However I've no idea how and why did it become Optifine reliant since I always use Optifine but it shouldn't have anything to do with them, yet here we are since it does. I've no idea how to make it vanilla-only since I had no idea it isn't until someone pointed this issue out to me.

Idea: Remove plains and let overworld ores spawn in the nether biomes but change their textures to be netherrack.
You could also add new structures that add water sources instead of rivers.

Indeed it was on my mind too. However, ores can either spawn in netherrack or stone. Overworld ores cannot spawn in netherrack and nether ores cannot spawn in stone. I've tried changing them but it didn't work. The only way to make overworld ores spawn in nether biomes (which don't have any natural stone in them) is to change the whole composition of nether biomes from netherrack to stone which would make all of these biomes look ridiculous (since only the surface would be made of netherrack) and not otherworldly anymore. I could indeed make new structures instead of rivers but I've no idea how and I've not found a good tutorial yet. Structures are stored in Mojang's NBT files and each and every block is destined to a given location within the structure. If there was no easier way, I could rewrite some already existing structures to spawn water instead of a block but as of now I don't know how to add new structures.
