New Update for Northumbria - I've added a quick Fly-Through Video showcasing my work on the New Brick Manor Lower Interior. The walls have been covered in a wooden finish called Wainscoting. Exotic Eastern Oriental Rugs acquired as spoils of the Crusading Wars dress the Manor's floors. The Lord and Lady's table sits perpendicular to the lower noble's table. Candles and oil lamps are the only form of light. Fireplaces with Chimneys are a new invention that only the very rich could dare to afford. Some members have asked if this Manor is based on a real building. Here is an image of the Chenies Manor in England on which this structure was heavily influenced.
Northumbria just got its first BRICK Building! So......Why are BRICKS such an important invention...??
Today, we take the humble Brick for granted. We think nothing of bulldozing a building and throwing bricks into landfill.
But, once upon a time, Bricks were such a valuable commodity that they were valued equal to Bronze. They were so prized that they were even recycled and bequeathed in a person's will & testament. Brick-Built Structures were first introduced to Britain during the Roman occupation 43AD-410AD. However, when Rome withdrew from the Britannic colony, the technology disappeared with the 6th century Anglo-Saxon timber-building culture. Bricks were not seen in Britain again until the 1100's (12th century).
Northumbria just got its first Brick-Built Building. The Manorial Estate of the local Lord has showcased his wealth and prestige by building his new family home in Brick. So, why were Bricks so valuable? Like all new "Trends", Bricks were not widely available and required a specialised technique to produce. It wasn't until European Royalty copied Brick Structures from the Byzantine Empire, that they became instantly fashionable with European Aristocrats. As European builders scrambled to learn & adopt the technology, the usual "Supply & Demand" constraints made them even more expensive. What were the Benefits of "Bricks"? Bricks were not only able to be mass-produced from local clay, but they could also be uniquely designed to shape the design of a specific building. Furthermore, Bricks had a tensile quality that could perfectly counter the destructive effects of the new cannon-arsenal now delivering an existential threat to traditional stone-built strongholds. Bricks allowed cannon-fired projectiles to pass through a wall without bringing down the entire fabric of the building. The mass of bricks proved itself to be a much more flexible material, acting similarly to the qualities of earthen embankments.
Hey again o/ Yes it will have interiors. I'm working on them at this very moment. The build is fictional - but based heavily upon real properties that I have researched. Chenies Manor played a huge part in influencing this structure. It was first built in 1180 and fell into disrepair and revamped again a few times until the mid 1500's. It has an incredible history - click HERE if you want to read a little about its history. Most notably, I have added more windows. The current Manor has very few windows. Most were removed after the window tax was placed on buildings in 1696 by William III.
Wow, so cool. Is this a recreation of an existing manor? Will it have an interior? Sorry for the questions this is just all really cool and I can’t believe I didn’t hear about this before.
I've put together some Work in Progress footage of my Northumbria Map so that people can get an immersive experience of my plans for the build. There is still so much work to do. I just updated the map to the latest version of ArdaCraft - only to find that some of the textures are no longer supported in the Single Player Mode. This puts me in a difficult position....not sure whether to continue work in the newer version and swap out all of the blocks with broken textures....Or, go back to the previous version and continue there. Ooof! Anyhoo.....
Well, a jam is a PMC feature that allows people to submit skins, texture packs, maps, etc. often going off of a theme. This one in particular is autumn/fall themed. It will likely be held during… well… Fall!
Help bring our upcoming October in-game event to life by creating a festive NPC skin! Think scarecrow farmers, pie vendors, wandering storytellers, anyone you'd meet at a cozy Fall celebration. Give them a name, a location in the festival, and maybe even a few fun lines of dialog. Your creation could become part of the festival world!
We're gearing up for an exciting Fall Festival on Planet Minecraft, and we need your creativity to make it spectacular! Join the Planting Season Jam by contributing builds, blogs, or art inspired by autumn themes like harvest, cozy vibes, and festive celebrations.

We've revamped our Site Rules with new sections focused on Social Interactions and Moderation— to help make the platform more welcoming and transparent for everyone.
✅ What’s new?
Our content rules remain the same, but the Social section is all about outlining what’s already been happening naturally but wasn't documented! This is to help newcomers understand how to engage positively and give everyone a clearer reference point. Ideally, if it helps prevent even small misunderstandings or frustrations, it's a win.
The Moderation section provides some insight into our responsibilities and actions. It's one small step towards offering transparency so you know how we keep the community fun, safe, and respectful. We're working on a larger update to this end.
We’re also compiling FAQs to make your PMC experience even smoother for both new members and exploring features of our platform! You can help us out by posting in this forum. Just prepend your thread title with “FAQ:” and—bonus points!—if you can provide the answers in your thread. Every contribution helps the community grow stronger and helps us understand what needs to be answered!
Let’s keep building an awesome community together.
Hey Planet Minecrafters o/ I hope that your Weekend is beginning nicely. I've added something new to my portfolio - "Modern Architecture". For those who have followed my work over the years, you'll know that Modern Architecture is something that has not featured heavily in my Gallery. I guess I do a lot of it in my commission work - so I possibly choose mostly Medieval when making maps for fun. Recently, I had a lot of fun making a modern architectural commission and I thought that I should start adding more of this genre to my Gallery. This map is a Modern suburban House that will be part of a sequence of builds that will eventually form the basis of a whole street. I'm hoping to design five houses in total over the next 12 months.
For those who appreciate High-End Interiors, you will enjoy this download. There are functional vending machines, auto-storage facilities, plush furnishings and a whole heap of custom paintings adorning the walls
Here's a sneak peak at the trailer - Hope you enjoy!
Hey All o/ I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. I have some exciting news for smaller device players! After many requests for a smaller version of the Furusato Mountain Village map, I have now added a smaller HUB version for people to download. The HUB version is perfectly suited to smaller devices that were unable to manage the larger Full Default World Version.
*Just a reminder that the HUB-Map does not include a Default Survival World
The Map size is 1250x1250 Blocks Download File Size: 159MB
