I'm obsessed with all those big moral questions nobody has answers to.
At what point is someone beyond redemption? Only death?
Is it right to force someone to put their life on the line for a good cause as a sentence for their crimes?
At what point is killing someone outside the law justified?
What is the relationship between vengeance and justice?
If killing someone to save another is trading lives, what makes one life more important?

I can't just settle for half answers or excuses. I need rules. Hard and fast. Rules that are tested, real, and understandable. "Well, it's a hard question" isn't good enough for me, but it's often the only answer I'm given.
Opinions, even wrong, speak of character.

Is morality, in the end, a social construct built to withhold the integrity of the human race?
Is it souly for the survival of society?
Or is it something more?

And when they make acceptions, what exactly is the "greater good" they do it for?
Merely protecting society from a murderer?
Protecting those you love?
And perhaps that is enough. Perhaps in a world that will take your loved ones away, perhaps taking someone else's is fine.
But an eye for an eye makes the world go blind...
But inaction has caused you to loose that loved one and the world has already moved on...

Whenever I get a story concept, I write out the whole plot. Character personalities, their relationships, their relation to the plot, motivations, development, etc. I'll spend like an hour on it, falling in love with every aspect and coming up with a timeline...
Only to then put it in my growing list of stories I might write one day.

A couple nights ago I came up with one on the spot and told it to my sister. She was super excited and couldn't wait for me to write it. She even started coming up with extra ideas for how it could go and asking me questions about the characters. And I was just like, "Girl, I don't even know if I'll ever start writing this one."
She was very sad. So I proceeded to tell her 2 or 3 other super well developed plot outlines. She liked all of them. She wants me to write all of them. Some of them are serieses 😭
It could take me years

But then today I started going a little bit more in depth with one, so maybe I'll write it just to hone my skills. As an experiment. Might post it on here if I do. Might. We'll see.

I've always loved stories where the monster has compassion on the innocent.
I used to think that was solely because I wanted to be protected by a monster, but maybe it's also because I'm afraid I have the inability to love.

Obviously this isn't true, but we like to take the extremes when we're in a low spot.

I have a document for "unposted wallposts"
It's like 10 pages (which isn't terribly long considering the length of most of my posts, but it's a bit.)

Most of it is stuff I didn't post when I was going through the worst of my depression. I really didn't like the idea of someone being worried about me or thinking anything was wrong, but at the same time I couldn't keep it all to myself. I needed someone to know. So I just wrote it all down and hid it.

I opened the document earlier today and read through it.
One thing stuck out to me.
I was writing about the person I looked up to, or, maybe more accurately, the person I wanted to be. The person I wished everyone was, because if everyone was like that, the world would be a better place. I guess it was a collection of traits actually.
Anyway, I was mourning the fact that this person didn't exist. I was thinking about that phrase: "be the change you want to see in the world" and crying, because that person could never be me. The world was a mess, and I was too much of a mess to do anything about even myself.

But looking back, it seems in a good way almost ironic. That person isn't nearly as far off as she was then. Sometimes I feel like I can see her. Just her outline. It's like she almost exists. It's like she can exist.

I think that part of the doc was only 8 months ago too. So much can happen so fast. I've grown so much recently, that it's kind of crazy. I can't take all the credit for it; it definitely wasn't all me. I've had a ton of help. I guess I just want to say that hopeless feeling isn't forever. Things can get better. Even if it feels very, very real that they won't. I don't want to be unrealistic or say that it isn't as bad as it is. But forever isn't real. Keep going. Things will change. And if you hold on, you'll get to see the next morning. The sunrise is absolutely gorgeous.

I think we can only love to the degree that we've experienced love.
Weirdly, that has little to do with how much we have been loved.
There could be someone or something that loves you more than anything ever, and if you didn't know that, it wouldn't really effect you.

Sometimes I wonder how good people go through unimaginable horrors and remain good. How can they keep believing that life is worth it when everything around them is basically hell?

I think, and this might sound like a bit of a stretch or like I'm a little mad, maybe they're choosing to focus on the love around them. Look at it, remember it, until it's the only thing they see. Use it as a lifeline. Experience it over and over again because they know that out of everything, it's the most real. The most reliable. Maybe even the most important thing they could hold on to.

Love has to have a source though. Where does that love come from? Certainly not the people around them. And if you can only love to the degree that you've experienced it, it can't really come from them. The universe then?

As a general rule, and I think we can agree on this, love can only come from something rational. Something that can choose one thing or the other. Because love can only exist if free will also exists. The universe, in all it's amazingness and beauty, isn't rational. At least not in any way that we can prove as far as I'm aware. And, if it's not rational, it can't love.

So what, outside of the universe, outside of ourselves, is the source of love?

All you really need is the previous 3 Spider-Man movies. (And really the only context for those is Civil War, Infinity War, Endgame, and the other pre-mcu Spider-Man movies)

The movie mostly recaps everything you need to know though, and doesn't go into recent events much. Thunderbolts could help, but I don't think it's necessary. I think Brand New Day is made to work as just a continuation of the last 3 Spider-Man movies.
