Sooooo not an April fools thing, but if you’ve visited my Etsy and seen that it’s down currently, THAT is because I’m having some seeeerious problems with it
the shipping they offer to the customer is significantly cheaper than the price I actually have to pay. And the hurdles I have to go through to ship stuff without totally doxxing myself is genuinely insane. If there’s anybody else who does this whole shipping merch thing please I need all the help I can get lol

Edit: I think I’ve come across a solution! Should be back open in a while, have to get some other ID related stuff squared away before I can open again

I didn’t have a PO Box because they were too expensive, but I just found a reasonably priced one! So my whole shipping problem should be solved! :D now I just gotta wait a few days to get that all squared away and then I can open it again :)

With as far as I know zero warning discord has made one of the most vile business decisions I’ve ever heard of lol
so just a heads up, anything more than two weeks old is now gone from my profile! (Until you get back to about a year ago when I didn’t host through discord)
absolutely sucks, but fortunately all of the art still exists in my personal collection on my tablet or pc or flash drive, so I didn’t lose anything.
this does mean PBDA part 2 is gone for the foreseeable future from this platform, it may return at some point! It’d just take literally hours to reupload lol.
hope everyone affected by this is able to salvage things

regarding many images on pmc being unavailable
tldr discord is deleting images after a while to free up storage space

what’s happening?
many images around PMC (wall posts, descriptions, profile pages) which are hosted on Discord are refusing to load, visiting the image URL returns an error.

what is causing it?
Discord doesn’t like it when you host images with them, so they’re creating a new system where images sent on Discord will be removed after a long period of time from Discord’s servers - there’s nothing we can do about it. it’s really inconvenient but PMC can do nothing about it, as it’s Discord who are hosting the image, and PMC is just displaying it from the image URL.

alternatives for image hosting
- if you’re up for a challenge, you could host your images through GitHub
- imgur is easy-to-use and doesn’t need logging in
- imgbb also exists
- Tixte is my favourite - you can upload images/videos/more and host them with a custom subdomain, with 15gb of storage space

its annoiyng, but PMC can’t do anything about it, and Discord ain’t gonna budge either.
