A few moments ago, IGEBM and Si arrived at the cave within the mountain and stopped Mr. Shiver from completing the Ritual of Heavenly Ascension by sacrificing Storm. Now, we resume that story...
IGEBM and Si cut the ropes binding Storm's legs to the wooden stakes of the ritual circle, fully freeing him. "What's going on over there?" he asks, pointing towards Mr. Shiver, whose ghost is somehow on fire. The Ferryman, the Axecutioner, and Martin Helsyth are being pulled towards him. "Does it matter?" IGE responds. "It's midnight, officially Halloween, the day when spiritual energy is stronger than all other times, and you haven't been sacrificed so a bunch of murderers can go ascend to the afterlife." "Let's just get out of here." Si adds, turning to leave the cave. "No." a voice growls behind them. It sounds like Shiver's, but distorted. They all turn nervously and see that the other three ghosts have been absorbed by Mr. Shiver, their souls mutating him into a horrific form as a result of the ritual going awry at the time it should have been completed.
Shiver's new body is still clothed in black robes, with the same hood that only allows two glowing teal eyes to show. However, he is now much larger, almost three times his old size. He has four arms, with his upper right holding the Axecutioner's axe and his lower right ending in the Ferryman's hook. Most notably, the center of his chest is more transparent than the rest of his ghostly figure, showing the four souls that make up this body. Shiver's is the largest one, as he is the one in control, with the other three rotating around him like planets around a sun.
He begins to move towards IGE, Si, and Storm, who start running. "You won't escape me!" he shouts as the all exit the cave into the stormy night. "We just have to get to the harbor!" Si says. "The boat's ready with all the things we packed!" "How do we know it won't sink in the middle of the ocean?" Storm asks, worried. "We don't!" IGE answers. "But do we really have time to test the structural integrity of a homemade craft when there's a giant ghost trying to kill us?" "Fair point." Storm responds, turning his head to pay attention to the forest and make sure he doesn't run into a tree. Shiver cleaves through the woods with his axe, full of rage towards his guests.
They soon make it to the mansion ahead of their host and take cover in the kitchen. "Wait, what are we gonna do with Shiver?" Si asks. "He could feasibly leave this island..." "What about the robot room?" Storm suggests. "Aren't they coated in that stuff that keeps ghosts from going through the walls?" "You're right!" IGE realizes. "We could trap him in there and get the heck outta here!" The trio begin to form a plan.
A few minutes later, as Shiver draws closer to the house, IGE steps out of the door, creating two glowing orbs of light around his hands. He waves his arms in the air. "Over here, Shiver!" he shouts. "Come and get me!" "Die!" Mr. Shiver screams in response, running towards IGE with his axe and hook ready to cut him into pieces. The writer hurries through the door and teleports across the living room to the basement door. Shiver simply walks through the wall, his massive form just barely fitting in the house. He sees IGE going down the stairs to the basement and enters an orb-like form, flying after him.
They arrive downstairs, where the orb transforms into a smaller version of Shiver that stands a few inches below the roof of the basement. "Go!" IGE says. Storm pushes in a part of the wall, causing it to slide down into the floor and reveal a ladder going down to the room where Martin Helsyth's robot - now reduced to parts of itself thanks to IGE, Si, and Storm - is stored. They all climb down the ladder, and Shiver jumps down after them. Si leads him into the back of the room before bolting towards the ladder. He follows Storm and IGE up as Shiver hurries after them, his new form slower than his old one. "How do we close the door?" IGE asks. "I figured it out while we were waiting for you." Si answers. He pushes another part of the wall in, causing the door to slide up. "We did it!" Storm cheers. "We're safe!" "To the boat!" IGE adds, leading the way back upstairs. As the ascend up the stairwell, the muffled and angry screams of Mr. Shiver are heard when he realizes he's been trapped in a room that he can't escape. Storm even makes out a faint, “I’ll get you one day - all of you!"
Approximately, 18 hours later, following a rainy voyage back home, IGE, Si, and Storm have finished unpacking, getting settled back into their homes, and taking naps to catch up on some missed sleep. They've put up some decorations for Halloween in front of their apartment doors, and IGE, Si, and their friend and co-worker Pinkie are now waiting at a table in the Nugget Factory for Storm to arrive. They are dressed up in their costumes - IGE as Michael Myers from the Halloween franchise, Si as a cowboy, and Pinkie as a Good Luck Bear from Care Bears - and Storm walks in dressed as Ultron from the second Avengers movie. "Are we ready for the trick-or-treaters?" Storm asks. "Yeah." IGE says, awkwardly unwrapping a right Twix bar he took from the candy basket. He notices Storm staring. "Oh, come on, Si had some too!" "Yeah, it's fine if we take some candy from the basket." Si adds. "It's not like they'll know." Pinkie reminds Storm. He sighs and pulls a Kit-Kat out of the basket. They all walk towards the door, with IGE carrying the basket and Si and Pinkie pulling up chairs, and open the doors to the restaurant. The four of them sit down and prepare to hand out candy to costume-clad PMCers.

Si, Storm, and Pinkie all chose what costumes they wanted to wear for the story (I PMed them), and Storm also chose what candy he wanted to pull out of the basket. The final edits made to the story was Pinkie’s costume, which was originally a ghost, since I didn’t expect her to reply, but then she did.

That's it! You're officially done with my daily series, PMC: The Mansion of Shivers! I hope you enjoyed it! As much as I think writing shorter stories is easier to read, even if it's daily (which is sometimes a nightmare to write), in a few weeks, I'll be going back to my usual weekly long stories. If you haven't already seen it, there's an upcoming Chaos Legion series I'm gonna start working on soon called The PMC World War. I'd rather you read the blog for more info, but to sum it up, it'll be lore version of the roleplay war us and the Great Monster Empire had. Anyways, I'd just like to say before I go that I had a blast writing this (even though, again, it was sometimes a nightmare to do with the schedule), especially since I also got to make covers for it (also a nightmare sometimes), which made my nights of staying up when I shouldn't have rather enjoyable.
