About events

Events can be competitive, like a contest, battle or tournament, where winners are chosen after the deadline. They can also be non-competitive like a challenge or event to take part in just for the fun of it. Community events are a great way to find inspiration, to try new things, to get to know each other and most importantly, to have fun!

Keep in mind that the general PMC rules apply to this section of the forums.

Additional event rules and guidelines:

• You can host events in this section. It's the best place on Planet Minecraft to do so.
  
• You can discuss events here: You can ask people to sign-up for your event, you can discuss event concept ideas and you can create polls to vote for themes, winners or anything else community event-related.
  
• You may announce the winners or the results of your event in a separate forum topic.
  
• Do not organize an event if you want a request fulfilled; use the workshop section of the forums instead.
  
• You may not require participants to subscribe to you, to follow you on social media or to do any similar action.
  
• You may not offer diamonds, likes, favorites, notification spams and similar actions as prizes in your event.
  

Tips for taking part in events:

• Read the description and the rules of the event, and follow them carefully.
  
• Bookmark or "favorite" the event you are taking part in, so that you can find it back easily.
  
• Did you sign up for an event, but does something prevent you from finishing your entry in time? Then it is nice to notify the event host.
  

Tips for hosting events:

• Participate in a few events before you host one of your own.
  
• Events can be held in many ways, don't hesitate to think outside the box!
  
• Have a clear description of your idea and your rules so that participants know what to do.
  
• Having a deadline or end date for your event is recommended. In competitive events it is a must.
  
• You can keep a list of entries in your forum topic or make a collection to keep track of entries.
  
• Don't copy the text from someone else's event, try to write your own from scratch.
