    Figured I'd come back here for a little bit, almost finished a story I originally wrote about this website and made a new and improved version.

    Shame half the people in it are gone now.

    hey-hey all,

    regarding some recently-deleted posts, please be mindful that the staff team is all for showing love and support for others. we want you guys to be there for one another, and recognize the value in having a community you can fall back on for reassurance through highs, but especially through lows.

    but, we also need to be mindful of how we communicate our support for others. it's easy to fall into some bad habits that can, maybe counterintuitively, hurt more than they help. that's not to say that the term "suicide" is forbidden. i know it's a touchy subject, and the word itself kind of sticks to the roof of your mouth, but september is suicide prevention awareness month and it's good to be up front, and to use the proper term for this particular type of crisis scenario.

    the problem (if you can call it that, but i don't think of it as a "problem" so much as a "misunderstanding") isn't that you guys are trying to help, or that your vocabulary is crass or offensive. please know that. i love that you guys help each other through rough patches.

    our team is just worried for the possibility that users may feel pressure to act as crisis councilors, as opposed to as friends or those who would like to show support. this kind of pressure can have a negative effect on other peoples' mental health, especially in those individuals who do not have professional training in crisis counseling.

    if you feel a fellow PMC user is in genuine crisis, that is, you believe they're in danger of harming themselves and/or others, please contact our team before you contact anyone else. report the comment/wallpost/forums post, or else make a private ticket and/or send a private message to our team. we regularly connect people with resources for help.

    if you have any questions, please reach out to me or create a support ticket. Below are a couple of resources for those experiencing suicidal ideation or who are otherwise in crisis

    Well this sounds like the most corporate response you guys could give... I'll be honest right away and say I'm not even in the loop with what happened, but the message sounds clear enough if you read past the layers of careful wording you put so much effort into.

    i understand, but the urgency that is sometimes communicated through wall posts can (accidentally or not) give that impression, or encourage others to act in that capacity. the wording of a post can easily take a situation from "my friend could really use some cheering up, or a shoulder to cry on" to "i personally need to do something right now or my friend may die" the implicit emotional stress and guilt of which is above and beyond the scope of what we expect or want our members to experience. that's why we would like to, in such scenarios, instead direct people to professional resources.

    1. All Sketchbook Journey entries have been copied over to Neocities. Difference in when a new entry is uploaded to PMC/Neocities depends on circumstance, but should continue to be unnoticed.



    2. Cara.app seems to be testing a new anti-scraping measure that causes embedded images (like here on PMC) to disapear after a while; so I've changed the image hosting to Neocities, which should let the images I embed in wall-posts (and on my PMC profile) stay up. My apolegies if you saw one of my wallposts without an image and just thought "what is bro talking about???"

    + Sketches, breakdowns, progressions, before/after, timelapses, weird adaptations, digital, paper, printouts, printouts on holo paper or other, or into 3D prints, Finished illustrations, finals, final_finals, finals3.

    Do whats most fun to you, there are tons of ways how to share stuff, and all are cool to experience.

    Noticed odd behaviour of mine: If I tell someone I'm doing something, I stop doing that thing. If I don't tell anyone that I'm doing something, I keep doing it.

    (Most people know I'm drawing, so I've stopped doing it. Few people know (or care) that I have a website --> can't stop working on it)

    Am I weird or is this normal? Feels normal to me, but I'm starting to question it
    Edit: When I say "I've stopped doing it" in reference to drawing --> I haven't quit, but I've significantly cut down on what I put into it.

    I sometimes forget that even PMC has trolls on it, and that no matter how much one tries to understand them and extend a hand: Some people have no will to do anything but be absolute idiots. Not naming the name of this user in question, blocked them. So even if I'm being a bit petty typing this out – Thank you, to all the people on here (the 99%) who aren't complete and utter, absolute blithering idiots.

    With that out of the way. Its been a while since I've updated whats up in my end.
    All my focus has been on my Neocities. Finished up the template I need to copy Sketchbook Journey entries over. This includes moving all image-files I use to my neocities storage, instead of Imgur, as I've noticed that some of the older Imgur pictures I uploaded, have all disappeared.

    today's skin remakes are....... plague knight and specter knight from shovel knight!! i liked both of these fairly-well when i made them but was really frustrated by the shape of the plague mask on plague knight (and im still not entirely happy w it but i think it's a step in the right direction!!)

    with these remakes i was really trying to bring them closer in-line with the reference material (colors + design) while also making the shading more interesting to look at :]

    As a shipbuilder myself, slabs are absolutely better, you could also try walls, stairs, and fence gates.
