PMC! Soooo, I have good news and "bad" news!

Good news, the Creator Analytics update is ready but the bad news is the timing isn't right to launch. I have some IRL things happening that require my undivided attention. All good things though, so no worries there. It's just best to wait until things are settled so that I can return the same attention to the update and you.

Creator Analytics WILL release next month! It took longer than initially expected for a number of unexpected reasons but scope of work also grew in many directions for the best. There's always more to do after the launch but there's more than enough to be useful and fun now and into the foreseeable future and historical past interests. Always nice when things motivate you to go, go, go. Didn't help switching chart libraries last week but know it was the right decision for the short and long run.

You'll see soon and I'm looking forward to having the proper time to respond to bugs and feature requests.

New Update Confirmation & Delays


Hey all. Spring time is flourishing, and so are preparations for the next server updates!

The development team has been working hard on a major technical update to the server's framework, which is the migration from Paper to Sponge. What that means is that the development workflow is going to be faster after this update, as Sponge works much closer to Vanilla Minecraft than Paper does. Thanks to this migration, we're benefiting from a deeper customization of game mechanics and a general avoidance of sketchy coding work-arounds. If you'd like to learn more about the technical aspect, @cotander will be happy to tell you more.

That being said, we decided to release a server version 3.1.2 before the Great 3.2 titled Moria Update.

The 3.1.2 release is going to feature the new recoded server. It will serve as an intermediate update between the Eriador update and the Moria Update, as we are planning on using this occasion to find the potential bugs that might arise because of the migration.

Moria Update

We need to delay the release of Moria, both because we need to ensure that the server works correctly on Sponge in time for the massive event we are planning, and because summertime in general is a better gaming period than April/May (historically, it has always been better that way). But do not be sad, for we've prepared a little sneak peek for you in the form of a little TIMELAPSE!

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates lately I've been going through a really rough spot with my Architecture Studies lately that has absolutely killed all my motivation (Both for IRL stuff and MC Stuff). I don't know when I'll get another update out but I look forward to when I can!

Congratulations to the_pharaohs_cat for his promotion to the role of Head Builder on our server! The Head Builder will fulfil the responsibilities listed below in coordination with the Empire War staff team:

1. Authorising the initiation of projects regarding the development of maps for Empire War.
2. Overseeing the renovation and improvement of maps already on Empire War (including design standards and direction, prioritisation and logging changes).
3. Overseeing the preparation of new maps for Empire War, including adapting maps from both EpicQuestz and older versions of Empire War. Specifically, ensuring aesthetic standards are upheld when preparing maps for gameplay, and the most appropriate texture changes are made when converting a map from use in the EpicQuestz resource pack to the Empire War resource pack.
4. Overseeing the building of lobbies.
5. Overseeing the preparation of the server aesthetically for events such as Christmas.

After a roller coaster ride of locating, merging, migrating and auditing massive amounts of data (nearly a billion records), I'm back on crossing off front-end features until remaining tasks are down to launch preparation. The bulk of the work is done, last 10% requires pushing through and eventually leaving some ideas for post launch.

I'm working on our Creator Analytics update and while it has grown in scope, it's more interesting and useful than I first imagined.

Here's a sneak peak of just the top half of a random members analytics widgets!

Each widget has a full page view that allows for an in-depth exploration of its data and insights. You will have the flexibility to navigate through various time frames, extending back to the inception of your membership or the publication date of your content, depending on the specific context. Relevant content, notifications and more will be readily available to explain and learn more about your analytics.

Still not sure when it will be ready but every day, it's getting closer :P
