OFFICIAL EVENTS AND CONTESTS
The Spring Fling Community Event is still running! We now have a total of 266 entries, ranging from pastel skins to beautifully written spring poems! Which entries do you like the most? Leave a diamond, favorite or comment on them, or even make a dedicated wall-post to feature them! One of our favorite projects is Blooming Lilac by Nitrox Nova. The speed that it grows is controlled by a minecart passing over a detector rail. Cool! Check out the video in the submission to see the lilac in action!

Howdy, PMCer's! How's everyone's weekend going so far? DinowCookie did an amazing job summarizing all things spring on PMC, so we're sharing her post if you didn't get the opportunity to read it! In addition to spring things, there are several other non-spring community events being hosted on the site. Cyprezz has also been hard at work behind the scenes revamping some stuffs. We hope everyone's found something to participate in this month!

WEBSITE UPDATES
Cyprezz Launched an overhaul to our account and submission management systems! We hope you'll find everything easier and more pleasant to work with when it comes to managing your account, activities, and submissions.

New member account menu provides access to everything related to our account & site activities.
Submission
management was revamped to clarify & streamline the process for
every submission type and their various unique elements.
Better mobile support for submission management.
Back-end
code of submissions management, listing and display was refactored for
developer sanity and for future submission add-ons and introduction of
new content types.
Members that upload will see the many changes I'm not going to bother listing out here. :P
Please report all bugs small & large by opening a ticket.
Feedback and suggestions welcome!

Look, I created a spring themed pixel art divider! ^ 😄 Remember the Community Pixel Project? PMC is still accepting new dividers. Spring might just be a perfect occasion to pick up the pixel pencil again; blossom 🌸 flowers 🌹 bunnies 🐰 eggs 🥚 Members could use them to Spring Fling their profile!

At the end of the Spring Fling event, my fellow hosts PMC, Cyprezz and I will pick a couple of spring-themed profiles to highlight in the event conclusion. ^_^ Please tag us, or leave a comment on the Spring Fling event discussion forum thread to show us your decorated profile! Need some inspiration? The profiles of etqtay, mcrjellyfish & StLee make great examples.

I decorated mine too! And made these photos of spring available for you to freely use when decorating your own profile.

About the Spring Fling event, I've seen a lot of people refer to it as a contest but please remember that it's a non-competitive event, which means that your entries will not be judged and no top-3 of winners will be chosen. You can enter any combination of skins, blogs and projects. Up to five entries per participant are allowed and you can team up as well! 😁

There already are a total of 165 entries submitted into the event so far, and we still have 18 days to go! Do you have something planned? I'll be looking forward to what more is to come. These are some of my personal favorites so far:

So, uh

Found out one of my best friends wants to be a woman even though he’s a man. Apparently I was the intolerant one by saying I couldn’t accept that, and he wasn’t for saying my parents and I are transphobes. Dude, the only people I’m afraid of are God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Oh, and did I mention he only considered me a friend because he felt I was a hopeless antisocial who needed friends? Yeah, definitely something you want a ‘friend’ to say to you. He also threw his other friends under the bus, saying they voiced their dislike of me to him, and then said he was the one defending me. When I asked them, one even said he was sorry if he ever said anything to him that made it sound like he hated me. Another said, ‘I know we haven’t gotten along, but I think you’re a good guy’. And after I asked them, he has the balls to DM me and tell me to ‘stop trying to turn his friends against him’. I was simply verifying the stuff he told me about them, which was all half-truths.

Long story short, he and I have parted ways because of his intolerance. I know I’ll likely get flak for being ‘one of those Christians’, but I’m not a Westboro member. I tried to talk him out of this decision, but he was firmly rooted in this lie that Satan has caught him in. I wanted to still be his friend, but he made it clear it was a ‘my way or the highway’ situation. And if he goes through with these ‘treatments’, as he calls them, he will have to live with that for the rest of his life, knowing that he has to maintain a lie no matter what the cost, injecting himself with hormones every day just to hold up a very fragile façade. If he ever comes back from that, I’m not sure if I’ll be his friend again or if I’ll remain a very far distance away.

I am sorry to anyone who has lost their friendship with someone like this, because I know how much it hurts now. It seeps into my soul and my heart, because I will never forget his cruel, bitter, and hurtful words.

Now I'm gonna stop you right there though. I don't have anything against someone being 'trans', no problemo. But DNA is exactly what defines your gender/sex. Hence why no matter the amount of operations you're gonna get, you're not gonna switch to another gender. If you wanna say you're a girl and not a guy, fine, I don't mind. But your chromosomes and organs are exactly the things that define your gender.

Not saying this guy is right, but you can't really deny the aspect of DNA on this matter. With that said, like you, I do not agree with the actions of this dude.

I never claimed to be ‘the righteous one’. There was only one of those, and his name is Jesus. I never claimed my beliefs made me a good person, not claimed I was perfect. I don’t know where any of your accusations are coming from. If the X and Y chromosomes don’t define gender, then I could just claim that I’m a male horse, because as you put it, it’s all in my head.

I also have a right to speak my mind on these things. Nowhere does it say I can’t speak my mind on something I feel strongly about. If you don’t like what I have to say, then ignore it.

Skinning mentorship ting:
In the past several skinning mentorship programs have been attempted, some succeeding and most failing. Because I've learnt nothing from that, I am going to give one a try. In said program I'll introduce you mostly to how to do the gradient skin style, that is mostly dead on pmc at this point ( :c ). I have no clue if any of you are interested, in case you are let me give you a brief description of what to expect and what you should have in your baggage to join.

What to expect from me and other skinners that comment on your work:
- Harsher criticism than you're used to on pmc. To help you improve, there will not be much holding back. The better you get the more nitpicky it will get - for the most part this has helped a lot of older skinners get really good, so it's a tried method with success.
- That you can at any given time get thoughts on your skins.
- An introduction to a lot of new skinners and skin principles.
- Introduction to more common practices of course.
- Challenges and skin ideas to broaden your perspective on skinning.
What is expected of you:
- Ability to take feedback, but also to think about why said feedback is given. Feedback is not a must to implement, so rather think about why it's given. For the most part I'll try to warrant my feedback, so you get helped towards understanding why I think the way I do. But you should also think about it yourself.
- That you're motivated and dedicated.
- That you're willing to do more than one type of skin (eg. not just knights or teen skins).
- The willingness to explore and research several styles - no answers will just be given to you.
- That you can communicate over discord (because communicating over pmc pms is a bit clunky.
If you're interested hit me up with a pm. I live in CET/CEST, so it's an advantage for me if you're around that timezone. There is no set formula to applying, but think about showing off your current work and describing what skins you like and don't like and what your goal for making skins is etc.

Slight rambling wall post, but I honestly feel like it.

Just because wall posts aren't moderated in the case of people swearing, does not mean you should go out of your way to include slurs in your every wall post. Some people using this site still have not been introduced to the actual meaning of or perhaps these words in general - let's not provoke the issue. Trust me I swear a lot too online, but don't go out of your way to introduce it every time an option shows. Currently only a minority do so, but please consider how appropriate doing so actually is.
