After meeting with several deceased friends' spirits over the course of the past two days, IGEBM, Si, and Storm are taking another day to relax and hopefully have 24 hours of nothing bad happening on the island. While IGE is in his room writing, his friends tend to the crops on the farm.
Si plants several corn seeds in holes he dug in the ground, and then begins to cover them up. As he does this, Storm picks the grown corn. "How long do we have to be here?" he asks. "The rain has soaked me and yet somehow I'm still getting wet." "We'll be back inside soon." Si responds. "Don't worry about it." "I have YouTube videos to work on." Storm says. "How?" Si asks. "Your camera went missing two weeks ago and there's barely any service on this island outside of the one bar we get every 6 hours, so you can't access your online scripts." "Well then, I'll just have to turn to good old handwritten scripts." Storm answers.
Throughout the day, they notice that the scarecrow normally standing in the center of the field keeps changing its location. "Either I'm going crazy or I could swear that thing was somewhere else when I last looked at it." Storm says. "Well, normally I'd say you've lost it, but I noticed it too..." Si responds. "Something's up." They keep working, and the scarecrow continues to move around. Lightning starts to strike around them, including a spot dangerously near the scarecrow. The corn is burned, but thankfully doesn't catch fire due to it raining. "I'll plant some new seeds." Si says. He walks towards the patch of burnt corn with a pouch containing more seeds, when the lightning strikes again, but this time, it hits the scarecrow!
The creature's eyes begin to glow red as its burnt burlap body moves. It propels itself forward off of the pole its on, and then it begins to sway around, grabbing Si with one of its arms. "Uh, Storm, a little help would be appreciate!" the gravedigger shouts as the pouch falls out of his hand. Storm turns around and sees the slender yet imposing figure of the scarecrow walking around, dragging Si through the fields with it. He throws his watering can at it, drawing its attention. It runs towards him with Si in hand, but Storm charges towards it in response. He swerves to the right and grabs the end of its left arm, pulling it with him and ripping it off, along with Si. He helps his friend up, and they come up with a plan to defeat the living scarecrow.
"We could use these farming tools." Si suggests, pointing to the tiller in Storm's hand. "Good idea." he says, handing it to his friend. "I'll distract it." He looks at the scarecrow. "Hey, tall guy, come at me!" the YouTuber shouts, holding up the end of its arm. "You want your hand back? Come and get it!" The scarecrow starts to move towards him, and doesn't notice Si sneaking up behind it. This allows him to jump up and stab it in the back of the head with the tiller. The scarecrow falls flat on its face as a red spirit floats out of the back of its head, disappearing into the air. "Problem solved." Si says, holding his hand up for a hi-five while standing over the scarecrow's lifeless body. "Let's take a break from farming." Storm tells his friend as he walks over and hi-fives him. "Alright." Si responds, turning and walking towards the gate.
TOMORROW - "THE HELL-O-LANTERN RISES!"
