More EDITOR Updates!

• Selectable & Sizeable Icons & Mentions. You can now highlight icons & mentions with text. More importantly, font-size now properly sizes our icons Ω to @ mentions to match your choosen font size.
• Responsive & Compact Tables. Tables are still resize-able but now they are responsive to the device they are displayed on. They are also stored in a far more compact format allowing more space for more visible content.
• Responsive Font-Sizes. All of our posts (submissions, threads, wall posts, etc) will now output font-sizes in a format that is more mobile / device friendly.
• Right Click Menu Images & Tables. Quicker method to edit existing images & tables.
• Better Safari Support. We now support back to Safari 10.
• Increased internal limits on # codes & images allowed.

Few other mention-able updates

• Recently Viewed Forum Threads. Added a pane in the side column of the forums that displays the last 5 threads you viewd for easy access.
• Greenlight System. Once your submission is greenlit, it won't go back into the queue if you update it as a level 1.
• Responsive Video Sizes restored. Youtube videos will now scale to fill the space they have available, desktop, mobile, widgets, etc.
• Lazy Loading Images. We've brought back lazy loading images across the website and even in member-generated content. This should speed up mobile browsing and desktop alike while also saving your and our bandwidth.
• Tickets. "something else" option fixed.
• PMCSkin3D. Opening Files fixed & UI Icon sizes adjusted.
• 3rd Party Website Dialog. Websites on submissions that are shown as "primary blue" buttons will now display a dialog letting you know your about to leave our site. We added it to downloads about a week ago but now it's on websites as well.
• Server Voting. Removed a spam check that was false flagging.
• Mobile Ads. Set fixed mobile Ad dimensions to prevent content shifting as they load.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS
Things are still lively over on this thread. Spygron is passionate about Planet Earth and is looking for other members to help with their cause! In their first forum post, they opened the discussion up about the problems Earth is facing - problems such as pollution, global warming, endangered animals, etc. This time they’re asking for action. Let’s see it happen!


creeper2357 was featured in an article on Minecraft.net for their replication of San Francisco's famous street, Lombard Street! If you’re not familiar with this street, the reason why it’s famous is because of it 8 very sharp turns spanning 1 block. Creeper2357 did a fantastic job replicating it!

• font_download Unified Font : Editor text uses the same font as the website!
• wb_iridescent Spoilers are easier to work with & harder to break. You can use the unfold_morearrows to move spoilers.
• Ω Over 700 special character & icons are now available. Click Ω
  to access them. They are text based which allows you to resize them
  with the font size & color them with the font color picker
• color_lens Advanced Color Pickers on text color & background.
• grid_on Table management & STYLES! Working with tables will be MUCH easier now. Besides being easier to create, edit and delete rows & columns you can now MERGE & RESIZE them! You can also change the table background style... none, site (default) & material are currently available.

The Community Pixel Project is off to a GREAT start! There are already 50+ pixel dividers, all very unique! Head on over to see your fellow PMC member's creative creations! There is no deadline for this event!

Watercraft Project Contest
Create a mode of transportation - on top or underneath - of water! Yachts, cruise liners, submarines, pirate ships, dolphin rides, sail boats, tubs, canoes, arm floaties and all other forms of watercraft are fair game!

Fanskins Skin Contest
There’s been a little confusion on what Fanskins actually are - this contest is about creating a skin of a PMC Member based off of a persona, avatar, profile design, username or combination of them. A fanskin is NOT reshading or altering your favorite skin that someone else made.

Reminder: do not give away any personal information. Your age and location are not needed in order for someone to make a fanskin of you.

A quick comment action with comment counter is now beside Diamonds & Favorites on all submission pages.

Mirror Download Dialog
Any maps, mods or texture packs with mirror downloads will now display a dialog exposing the full url and letting you know that you're about to leave PMC.

Forums
We revamped the main thread listings on forums with a cleaner, easier to read and brighter style.
Added forum feeds into the side column of all individual submission pages.

Project Support for more Bedrock Formats
Projects now support world upload formats in .schem & .nbt formats on top of the .zip, .schematic, .mcworld formats we already supported. Not only does the site allow the formats, Schemagic aka "PMCView3D" allows you to preview these maps on PMC. If a .zip contains multiple .nbt files, you'll be presented with a selection menu. Soon we will reorganize the main menus to help guide Bedrock users to content they can use without conversion tools.

Upcoming Feature
We are close to releasing a new text/bbcode editor for ALL of our content creation systems including submissions, threads, wall posts, widgets, PMs and more. It will enhance existing features as well as introduce new capabilities plus better Mobile support! When we launch, hopefully, next week, we'll include a list of highlights.

Skin Team Top Notch JUST Released their second FREE skin pack, Elves! This pack includes all different types of elves including Aquatic Elves, Dark Elves, Forest Elves, High Elves and more! Thank you for another amazing skin pack, Team Top Notch!

Community Pixel Project!
There will be rounds in this event. This round’s focus is dividers. Your divider can be anything you want! It can be animated by blinking or bouncing or have no animation at all. Our goal is to create a library of pixel art available for the PMC community to use freely in our posts & profile pages! So keep this in mind. Who knows, maybe your pixel art will be featured in a Wall Post Weekly or by your favorite PMC member! NOTABLE WEBSITE UPDATES

The update on Jan 25th, added the ability to easily perform actions on submissions from the listings both on Desktop and Mobile. You now have the ability to diamond, favorite & add to collections right from submission preview pages. If you diamond or favorite, it also increments the view counter, assuming you didn’t already view it. We hope to continue making it easier to provide feedback on submissions.

Prior to the update, 1,500-2,000 diamonds were given per day by the community. After the update, the new “normal” average is between 2400-2900!

As a result of this website update, a spam war broke out which caused a small spike in diamonds and favorites as pictured below:

On the Jan 31st, we added a "Data Pack" category under "Mods" and moved Texture Packs, Projects & Mods tagged with variations of "datapack" into it. If you have a data pack and want it moved to join the others, please comment below.

* There is a main menu option under : Minecraft > Data Packs.
* Data packs will identify themselves in the listings as "Data Packs" not "Mods".
* Download buttons on Data Packs will say "Download Data Pack".
* Data pack pages are titled "Minecraft / Data Packs" and link to the other data packs.

This is still a temporary solution before fully supporting data packs but it's a big step towards organizing them in one place and supporting the growth of the data pack community.

PMC Member Paulzero was featured on Minecraft.net for their build Victorian Chateau - Rosegold which is available for Download! The article covers the inspiration behind his build, and goes into depth about his building process! After reading the article, download the chateau and get an up-close look! Also featured on Minecraft.net in an article called “Host a Dinner in Minecraft” was PMC Members a blue car for their Pig Suit Skin and vampbites for their skin, enderman hoodie! This article gives you tips on how to host your own dinner party with friends in Minecraft as well as suggests some delicious recipes to serve to your guests. Cute!

We didn’t have a Wall Post Weekly this past week, so we’re sending out this mid-ish week reminder about the polls that are up for the next official Project Contest and Skin Contest themes! There are some awesome new themes to choose from! You have 4 more days left to vote, so go vote!!

MOVIE NIGHT!
First, we would like to thank everyone that attended PMC Movie Night last night! It was a blast chatting and watching short Minecraft animations and A Wizard’s Tale together! There certainly was never a dull moment! Special thanks to the producer, Ray_Savage , for not only producing the movie, but attending movie night as well. Your director commentary through the movie was appreciated, and we all learned a little more about the behind-the-scenes work! We can’t wait to see what other movies you produce!

There were a steady 45 members the entire movie! Some members popped in a little late because of school, while others had to leave to do laundry. There were a total of 114 members throughout the evening. It sure was fun and lively the entire time! Participants should see something special in their trophy case!

If you missed movie night, don’t worry! We WILL be having another one! You can catch the short Minecraft Animations and A Wizard’s Tale over on PMCTV, Channel 6. We will continue to run the short clips and movie until the next movie night!

DinowCookie’s Collection Competition is a unique challenge, in which your goal is to create a collection following the theme and rules of the round. This round’s theme is FREESTYLE. Create a collection containing 20 submissions (from other members!) all centering around a theme of your choosing. She’s created a couple of collections as examples: A Black Collection and A Japan Collection!

2018 was a big one for Planet Minecraft. We launched PMCSkin3D and added powerful features to it over the months. We added a Youtubers section, started hosting Official Events, began publishing a Wall Post Weekly, overhauled the website design, added advanced collection features, introduced seasonal site themes with PMC pets (Topper and Batty!), and most recently added an Activity Feed. In addition to these updates there were countless small improvements across the site which collectively evolved PMC this past year. A BIG thanks to all of you for your continued support. Together we’re a community to be proud of!

We have many exciting plans for the upcoming year, which we're already developing behind the scenes.

There are 4 days left to submit an entry to Momu's Skin Reshade contest, Holy Reindeer RC. Reshade contests are a great way to practice shading and get feedback!

Eli the Zeratoed is hosting another Pokemon themed skin collection contest! This one runs until January 12th,
which is a little under a week away. Select a Pokemon from the Hoenn Pokedex and make a skin that resembles your chosen pokemon! Spygron's Animals Skin Contest also ends a week (January 13th). Create a skin of your favorite animal or your pet!

LaurenAngels_ challenge, Skinning Dares for you to Try, has dozens of ideas to fuel your imagination. If you’re stuck in a creativity block, read over their list of challenges! We dare you!

OFFICIAL CONTESTS AND EVENTS

Bad news and good news. Bad news - due to how busy December was, PMC will not be hosting any official contests for the month of January. Good news, we will be focusing even more on promoting community hosted contests and events. We will be back on schedule in February. Use this month to support your fellow PMCer’s by participating in their events and contests.

The Winter Wonderland Community Event has come to an end. We had a total of 536 entries! Yesterday we published the Winter Wonderland Event Conclusion. We're open to suggestions for future event themes! Head on over and let us know your ideas in the comment section!

Congratulations to the winners of the Five Elements Skin Contest and thank you to everyone who participated. There were a variety of artistic representations of the five elements. Some represented individual elements while others represented all five elements. All of the entries can be viewed here.




OTHER HIGHLIGHTS

PMC Member andyisyoda was featured on Minecraft.net for their modern builds! You may know/recognize them from YouTube. The interview includes a blurb about his 20+ hour live stream which resulted in a house complete with tennis course and bowling lanes.

wldscarlet is in search for artists and builders to work together with 18 other talented members on their Wellandel project, an immersive story-driven MMORPG. For more information about the Wellandel project and the application process visit their Blog!



Sir_Arzie is celebrating their 100 YouTube Subscriber achievement with this epic build, Geisha 100 Men Slayer! They’ve included a download with this build! Congratulations on your milestone, Sir_Arzie!

Greetings, PMCers! We hope everyone had a great holiday! Judging by the results on this poll by Caustic1 that asked what your favorite part about Christmas is, spending time with family is by far what the majority of you enjoy most! You sweet people, you. "The Food" came in close second, nom nom, with "Gifts" at a close third. What was your favorite gift you received/gave?

With the holiday season ending, so are a lot of the contests and events. In this edition of The Wall Post Weekly, we highlight the results of concluded events, emphasize those that are ending soon, and summarize this weeks activity.

Did you see the article on Minecraft.net, Snowtacular Skins?! The article features our Winter Wonderland Event! Better yet PMC Members and event participants A1yssa, k1smet_, khajiity, BleedingBlack and nospurratu were for their skin submissions (Christmas Lights, Penguin PJs, Christmas Penguin, Rainbow Haired Christmas Girl, Whoever Thought of Giving Snowmen Hats and Scarves was a Psychopath, respectively). Congratulations to all!

Speaking of the Winter Wonderland Event.....tomorrow is your LAST DAY to submit an entry! Make sure your submission relates to the theme! Anything wintry! Projects, Skins, Blogs or Artwork! There are some really creative and original submissions already (522 to be exact!). All participants receive a small pixel present to add to their trophy case!

The Five Elements Skin Contest is in the Final Judging phase! The judges will be wrapping up soon! Good luck to the finalists and thank you to all of the members who participated!

COMMUNITY EVENTS

DinowCookie's Secret Santa event was a success! Check out this collection to see a variety of gifts made by our talented members! Friendly note: If you haven't given your gift yet, better late then never! Your Secret Santa has been looking forward to their gift for quite some time. We all are busy, but try to pull through!

Wildcard_Gamer's Ugly Chrismas Sweater Community Collection is ending in 3 days. Use one of your favorite skins (made by you) and give it an ugly sweater!

TODAY is the last day of Carcharodontosaurus' Bin Skin Contest! Create a quality “garbage” skin that follows the guidelines. This battle's theme is Horrible Character Customization – with special rules. You must use 3 pieces from the sheet given by Carcharodontosaurus (see below) Ready, set, go!

WilliamJT's Skin Reshade Contest, For Glory!, wraps up on January 3rd. In their first ever hosted contest, your goal is to reshade the medieval skin they're provided. Their goal is to get 5 entries – let's help them get to their goal!

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS
In the beginning of December, FC Creations submitted an un-decorated big, beautiful spruce tree for anyone to decorate! Throughout the month, they posted various YouTube videos showing their own progression! Check out their series "Mega Christmas Tree", to see several time lapses as well as the end result of this impressive work of art!



Congratulations to anonpmc2558251 for their successful server launch with 59 players in just 4 days. Their server offers two different types of Minecraft gameplay: Redstone Freebuild and Survival. Together they are setting an excellent example of how to setup and promote a new server on PMC.

Speaking of Topper, have you noticed anything about Topper lately? Last week, Cyprezz reached out and asked the community for help with emotes and many of you responded with adorable (some, ambiguous) ideas! We implemented all of the animated suggestions and will continue to add them! Which Topper Emote is your favorite so far?

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS
PMC Member Elgringau was featured in an article on Minecraft.net. They were interviewed for their piece, The Human Hive. The concept behind their build was to “create a structure that would renew the link between nature and civilization
while shifting its main sources of energy” (hence the solar panels and glasshouses). Read more about their build in their interview and on their submission page (which includes a download!).

After a small hiccup, we've implemented mentions! That's right, you can now tag your fellow PMC Members simply by typing the “@” symbol and then the PMC member name! Not quite sure how to spell a member's name? The system autocompletes for you, pulling up suggested usernames based on what you've typed! Woo!

Minecraft Skin Team Top Notch released their first Skin Pack - Village and Pillage! It's a completely FREE skin pack that consists of 12 Village and Pillage themed skins! Top notch is currently working on their second project – we're looking forward to seeing what they come up with next!

Roman_95 completed their Red Alert 3 Alliance Side Collection. They've been hard at work for 8 months in between their dinosaur and dragon builds. Their collection includes Vehicles, Aircraft, Vessels, and Structures – all intricately detailed and available for download so you can get an up-close look! Congratulations on the completion of your Red Alert Collection!



In their first ever blog post, UFO made a tutorial on how to use the clipboard and clone mode in PMCSkin3D! They use screenshots to help explain these features, and their explanations are easy to follow. If you're overwhelmed, confused, or don't know how to use the clipboard and clone mode, this is very helpful!

PMC Member Crazyarchitektor and Leonex were featured on Minecraft.net for their fantasy castle project. They go into depth on how long it took them (hint: it wasn't overnight!), the materials used, and inspiration behind it! A good read!

MORE updates to collections!You can now pop out the Collections Manager pane (just like you can with the color picker in PMCSkin3D)! You can move the pane anywhere you want and it will stay when refreshing the page & browsing the site.

• You can now right click any folder to create a new folder or collection in that folder instead of going all way to top of the collections manger.
  
• You can now move multiple collections to another folder at once. Use ctrl + click to select multiple collections
  
• You can move items from one collection to another. Right+Click item to see "Move to..." option
  
• You can copy items from one collection to another. Right+Click itme to see "Copy to..." option
  
• You can delete items from a collection by right clicking and selecting "Delete"
  
• Added "Delete" confirmation dialog to prevent accidental oops.
  
• You can delete items from a collection on it's full page view while sorting by "Collector Order". Simply drag and drop an item into the dirt background / outside of the collection layout.

Winter Wonderland Community Event
We did it again! The Halloween Community Event was so successful that we decided to have another! To celebrate the season of Winter, the event theme is Winter Wonderland! Turn on some Holiday music, grab a cup of warm cocoa and create something winter-y to contribute to this festive occasion!

If you participated in the Halloween Community Event, you know the deal. You can make anything you want, as long as it fits the theme! OTHER HIGHLIGHTS

This week, PMC Member ArchiGa was featured on Minecraft.net! The interview highlights their submission, Cælestes Horti / SkyGardens, which was an entry in the Sky Scraper Project Contest! ArchiGa goes into detail about the inspiration behind the build, the length of time it took to create it, and gives insight about the build in its' entirety. Congratulations, ArchiGa!

WEBSITE UPDATES

Updates!! The most noticeable update was the new nav bar, XP bar, and PMC Logo in the header. It may appear that these changes are the only updates on the site... but they're not!

Cyprezz explains:

"There was a pile of improvements all over the site that had nothing to do with the site theme and physical changes. For example, I integrated 'lazy loading' of images which should speed up the site on both mobile and desktop - saving bandwidth for us and you!"

There were many updates to the Collections system! We also updated the Collections Tutorial, which includes new, detailed explanations, newly added GIFs, updated photos, and more! Let us know if we missed anything by commenting on the tutorial page!

Another major update was with PMCSkin3D! Did anyone notice that you can now edit ANY MOB?! Chicken, Cows, Dolphins, Sheeps, Squid, and SO many more. Only player model textures can be published.....for now. wink. Simply launch PMCSkin3D, select " File > NewSkin ". Click on the drop-down menu (Steve is pre-selected) and choose your mob! Easy peasy!

One final thing. Remember Batty? Chances are, Batty's still hanging around your profile but you now have the ability to "dismiss" Batty, relocating Batty to your Trophy Case! You can summon Batty by going to your Trophy Case, and hitting the blue "Summon" button. Batty will re-appear on your profile!

Every extra special thing we've done on the site this month is because of this Holiday, and it's finally here! Let's recap the eventful month!

SITE THEME

One of the most noticeable special spoops was the site theme! Bats, leaves, pumpkin-orange buttons.. oh my! Along with the appropriate site theme, a lot of members decorated their personal profile in cobwebs, creepy-crawlers, and spooky scary skeletons. We really enjoyed seeing everyone's profile transform! So festive and creative! The orange buttons and leaves aren't going anywhere just yet - they'll stick around through the fall season!


HALLOWEEN COMMUNITY EVENT

The FIRST ever non-competitive Community Event was successful, to say the least! The Halloween Community Event wrapped up yesterday and we are impressed by the quality and number of submissions and support you have given each other! BATTY!

Let's talk about the friendly phantom creature that's been hanging around randomly – BATTY! Many of you have already found Batty, and if you haven't, don't fret! You still have the rest of today to find Batty, and it should be easier because it's Halloween and it's Batty's favorite Holiday!



Fun Fact: Batty wasn't in our original plans for the month, but when the seed was planted it grew and we're happy Batty was well received! Batty feels very welcomed and thanks to the community for being so friendly!

Batty showed up 22,205 times for members only!
15,428 members saw but never claimed Batty!





OTHER SITE SPOOPS!

In addition, our official Laboratory Experiments Skin Contest received 240 entries & is currently in the judging phase! There were some beautiful and unique creations & equally original stories along with them. The Pumpkin Carving Contest JUST entered the review phase which means there's still time to look over the entries and diamond your favorites to ultimately determine the finalists!
