It's no secret that Minecraft Forums are going into read-only mode on June 16th. Read their official announcement and the reasoning behind this decision here or check out this forum thread and share your thoughts!

Many of you celebrated Minecraft's 10th anniversary with us and others around the globe! Cib made a collection of the submissions he came across. We adore StLee's skin, ~✿~ Minecraft @ 10 - a creeper skin with a flower crown wearing pig overalls! Who knew creepers could be so cute!?

We're somehow already halfway through May! This means that we're closer to summer, but it also means the deadlines for this month's contests are approaching quick!



Today is also Minecraft's 10th Anniversary! Happy Anniversary, Minecraft! As Cib said it perfectly in his forum discussion Celebrate Minecraft's 10th Anniversary, that's "10 years of crafting, building, slashing, clicking and tapping." Cib also shares a couple of ideas if you want to join in on the celebration, but are not sure how:

More EDITOR Updates!

• Selectable & Sizeable Icons & Mentions. You can now highlight icons & mentions with text. More importantly, font-size now properly sizes our icons Ω to @ mentions to match your choosen font size.
• Responsive & Compact Tables. Tables are still resize-able but now they are responsive to the device they are displayed on. They are also stored in a far more compact format allowing more space for more visible content.
• Responsive Font-Sizes. All of our posts (submissions, threads, wall posts, etc) will now output font-sizes in a format that is more mobile / device friendly.
• Right Click Menu Images & Tables. Quicker method to edit existing images & tables.
• Better Safari Support. We now support back to Safari 10.
• Increased internal limits on # codes & images allowed.

Few other mention-able updates

• Recently Viewed Forum Threads. Added a pane in the side column of the forums that displays the last 5 threads you viewd for easy access.
• Greenlight System. Once your submission is greenlit, it won't go back into the queue if you update it as a level 1.
• Responsive Video Sizes restored. Youtube videos will now scale to fill the space they have available, desktop, mobile, widgets, etc.
• Lazy Loading Images. We've brought back lazy loading images across the website and even in member-generated content. This should speed up mobile browsing and desktop alike while also saving your and our bandwidth.
• Tickets. "something else" option fixed.
• PMCSkin3D. Opening Files fixed & UI Icon sizes adjusted.
• 3rd Party Website Dialog. Websites on submissions that are shown as "primary blue" buttons will now display a dialog letting you know your about to leave our site. We added it to downloads about a week ago but now it's on websites as well.
• Server Voting. Removed a spam check that was false flagging.
• Mobile Ads. Set fixed mobile Ad dimensions to prevent content shifting as they load.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS
Things are still lively over on this thread. Spygron is passionate about Planet Earth and is looking for other members to help with their cause! In their first forum post, they opened the discussion up about the problems Earth is facing - problems such as pollution, global warming, endangered animals, etc. This time they’re asking for action. Let’s see it happen!


creeper2357 was featured in an article on Minecraft.net for their replication of San Francisco's famous street, Lombard Street! If you’re not familiar with this street, the reason why it’s famous is because of it 8 very sharp turns spanning 1 block. Creeper2357 did a fantastic job replicating it!

They exploded into tiny little hearts! It was raining love <3 It was a relatively quiet week this week, but we were behind the scenes working on the text editor update which is now live!


credit_card General Editor Highlights

• font_download Unified Font : Editor text uses the same font as the website!
• wb_iridescent Spoilers are easier to work with & harder to break. You can use the unfold_morearrows to move spoilers.
• Ω Over 700 special character & icons are now available. Click Ω
  to access them. They are text based which allows you to resize them
  with the font size & color them with the font color picker
• color_lens Advanced Color Pickers on text color & background.
• grid_on Table management & STYLES! Working with tables will be MUCH easier now. Besides being easier to create, edit and delete rows & columns you can now MERGE & RESIZE them! You can also change the table background style... none, site (default) & material are currently available.
• history Auto saves periodically so that you can restore or recover posts. Location independent (wall post, thread, submission, etc)
• zoom_out_map Better Fullscreen : Now fullscreen won't take up the actual fullscreen... why? Because if

There are always bugs & tweaks to be made after an update that needs to support many different locations & purposes on the website plus devices, browsers & operating systems. If you found a bug with the editor or have a feature suggestion, please open a ticket.

The Community Pixel Project is off to a GREAT start! There are already 50+ pixel dividers, all very unique! Head on over to see your fellow PMC member's creative creations! There is no deadline for this event!

Watercraft Project Contest
Create a mode of transportation - on top or underneath - of water! Yachts, cruise liners, submarines, pirate ships, dolphin rides, sail boats, tubs, canoes, arm floaties and all other forms of watercraft are fair game!

Fanskins Skin Contest
There’s been a little confusion on what Fanskins actually are - this contest is about creating a skin of a PMC Member based off of a persona, avatar, profile design, username or combination of them. A fanskin is NOT reshading or altering your favorite skin that someone else made.

Reminder: do not give away any personal information. Your age and location are not needed in order for someone to make a fanskin of you.

A quick comment action with comment counter is now beside Diamonds & Favorites on all submission pages.

Mirror Download Dialog
Any maps, mods or texture packs with mirror downloads will now display a dialog exposing the full url and letting you know that you're about to leave PMC.

Forums
We revamped the main thread listings on forums with a cleaner, easier to read and brighter style.
Added forum feeds into the side column of all individual submission pages.

Project Support for more Bedrock Formats
Projects now support world upload formats in .schem & .nbt formats on top of the .zip, .schematic, .mcworld formats we already supported. Not only does the site allow the formats, Schemagic aka "PMCView3D" allows you to preview these maps on PMC. If a .zip contains multiple .nbt files, you'll be presented with a selection menu. Soon we will reorganize the main menus to help guide Bedrock users to content they can use without conversion tools.

Upcoming Feature
We are close to releasing a new text/bbcode editor for ALL of our content creation systems including submissions, threads, wall posts, widgets, PMs and more. It will enhance existing features as well as introduce new capabilities plus better Mobile support! When we launch, hopefully, next week, we'll include a list of highlights.

Skin Team Top Notch JUST Released their second FREE skin pack, Elves! This pack includes all different types of elves including Aquatic Elves, Dark Elves, Forest Elves, High Elves and more! Thank you for another amazing skin pack, Team Top Notch!

Community Pixel Project!
There will be rounds in this event. This round’s focus is dividers. Your divider can be anything you want! It can be animated by blinking or bouncing or have no animation at all. Our goal is to create a library of pixel art available for the PMC community to use freely in our posts & profile pages! So keep this in mind. Who knows, maybe your pixel art will be featured in a Wall Post Weekly or by your favorite PMC member! NOTABLE WEBSITE UPDATES

The update on Jan 25th, added the ability to easily perform actions on submissions from the listings both on Desktop and Mobile. You now have the ability to diamond, favorite & add to collections right from submission preview pages. If you diamond or favorite, it also increments the view counter, assuming you didn’t already view it. We hope to continue making it easier to provide feedback on submissions.

Prior to the update, 1,500-2,000 diamonds were given per day by the community. After the update, the new “normal” average is between 2400-2900!

As a result of this website update, a spam war broke out which caused a small spike in diamonds and favorites as pictured below:

On the Jan 31st, we added a "Data Pack" category under "Mods" and moved Texture Packs, Projects & Mods tagged with variations of "datapack" into it. If you have a data pack and want it moved to join the others, please comment below.

* There is a main menu option under : Minecraft > Data Packs.
* Data packs will identify themselves in the listings as "Data Packs" not "Mods".
* Download buttons on Data Packs will say "Download Data Pack".
* Data pack pages are titled "Minecraft / Data Packs" and link to the other data packs.

This is still a temporary solution before fully supporting data packs but it's a big step towards organizing them in one place and supporting the growth of the data pack community.

The article covers the inspiration behind his build, and goes into depth about his building process! After reading the article, download the chateau and get an up-close look! Also featured on Minecraft.net in an article called “Host a Dinner in Minecraft” was PMC Members a blue car for their Pig Suit Skin and vampbites for their skin, enderman hoodie! This article gives you tips on how to host your own dinner party with friends in Minecraft as well as suggests some delicious recipes to serve to your guests. Cute!

We didn’t have a Wall Post Weekly this past week, so we’re sending out this mid-ish week reminder about the polls that are up for the next official Project Contest and Skin Contest themes! There are some awesome new themes to choose from! You have 4 more days left to vote, so go vote!!

MOVIE NIGHT!
First, we would like to thank everyone that attended PMC Movie Night last night! It was a blast chatting and watching short Minecraft animations and A Wizard’s Tale together! There certainly was never a dull moment! Special thanks to the producer, Ray_Savage , for not only producing the movie, but attending movie night as well. Your director commentary through the movie was appreciated, and we all learned a little more about the behind-the-scenes work! We can’t wait to see what other movies you produce!

There were a steady 45 members the entire movie! Some members popped in a little late because of school, while others had to leave to do laundry. There were a total of 114 members throughout the evening. It sure was fun and lively the entire time! Participants should see something special in their trophy case!

If you missed movie night, don’t worry! We WILL be having another one! You can catch the short Minecraft Animations and A Wizard’s Tale over on PMCTV, Channel 6. We will continue to run the short clips and movie until the next movie night!

GAMES AND CHALLENGES
DinowCookie’s Collection Competition is a unique challenge, in which your goal is to create a collection following the theme and rules of the round. This round’s theme is FREESTYLE. Create a collection containing 20 submissions (from other members!) all centering around a theme of your choosing. She’s created a couple of collections as examples: A Black Collection and A Japan Collection!
